This course explores the concept of sustainable development, with an emphasis on the United Nations, and more broadly the importance of intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), in addressing global sustainability challenges. The UN defines sustainable development as encompassing a social, an environmental and an economic pillar, and this course will examine all three. The students will write a 15 page research paper and then distill what they have learned into various Wiki pages.
