HIST 401 @ CSULB is a History/Social Studies teacher preparation course that focuses on World History (Ancient through the Contemporary Era) and US History (1492-present). The intent of the course is to prepare students to teach in CA grades 6-12. This Wikipedia assignment is intended to help students with the neutrality of their writing and approach, which should be a goal in teaching HIST/SS in a CA secondary classroom setting. It is also intended to remind students that as a history educator, it is also our duty to help the public understand historical topics in more detail that what might be readily available to them currently on the Wikipedia page/website. We'd like to contribute to making Wikipedia more inclusive with this work.
