Elite Leagues & Organizations

The initiative aims to create and sustain articles about every national premier league and championship, resulting in a broad perspective on women’s ice hockey across the globe.

Leagues with their own initiative pages

At the moment, only a few of the top-tier international leagues have a substantial enough number of articles to justify their own initiative pages. The goal is to support additional, league-specific initiatives in the future by building up the number and quality of articles for other leagues.

Articles to be created

League and championship articles are top priority. Team, season, and other supplemental articles can be added when sufficient source material exists for the topic to independently meet WP:GNG.

• Czech Women's Extraliga→Draft (Extraliga ženského hokeje/Extraliga žen), national championship league of Czechia (called 1. liga ženského hokeje until 2017)
• Női OB I bajnokság (Hungarian: Jégkorong női OB I bajnokság, lit. 'Ice hockey women's National Championship 1 championship', shortened Női OB I bajnokság or OB I), also Magyar női jégkorongbajnokság (lit. 'Hungarian women's ice hockey championship'), national championship league of Hungary, top teams also compete in EWHL
• Korean Women's Ice Hockey League
• Bambusa-ligaen premier ice hockey league in Norway (called Eliteserien i ishockey for kvinner or Kvinner Elite during 1997–2021), league champion is not named national champion but rather wins the Eliteseriemesterpokal (lit. 'Elite Series Champion's Trophy/Cup'; replaced the Ole-Jacob Libæks pokal in 2013)

• Norgesmesterskapet i ishockey for kvinner, shortened NM i ishockey for kvinner, Norwegian Championship in women’s ice hockey, winner receives the Kongepokal

• Slovak Women's Extraliga (Extraliga žien), national championship league of Slovakia (called 1.liga žien until 2017)
