"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." ― H.E.
In order to keep the project on track, several editors have suggested electing project-wide coordinators to manage administrative and procedural aspects of keeping WikiProject Wikify successful. The project runs backlog elimination drives every other month; therefore, the coordinators elected by the WWF community would be in charge of the coordination of these drives. Coordinators should be experienced editors and community members, with experience coordinating projects. They are also expected to generally assist project members with any questions or concerns.
Executive coordinator — editor will be responsible for maintaining most project functions. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing the bi-monthly backlog elimination drives, updating the project page, facilitating outreach to potential new members, and similar tasks. This position will be chosen by community voting and the lead coordinator will have a term of one year.
Assistant coordinator — editor will be responsible for assisting the executive coordinator in performing his or her duties. This position will be chosen by community voting and the assistant coordinator will have a term of one year. If the executive coordinator was unable to perform his or her duties, the assistant coordinator would become executive coordinator.
Administrative officers — editor will be responsible for assisting the coordinators with their duties. These positions would be filled on demand, and the officers would be appointed by the executive coordinator.
The first election voting cycle will run from January 19, 2011, to February 1, 2011.
Members of the project may vote for candidates using approval voting. Members of the project may nominate themselves for executive or assistant coordinator, by creating a section below. If the nominee is running for both positions and you wish to support them for only one, please make a note to that effect as part of your vote.
Both project members and interested outside parties are encouraged to ask questions of the nominees or make general comments.
Hello; I'm Mono. I've participated in WikiProject Wikify for a while now, and recently, I've become fairly active in managing the project's progress. I've helped coordinate the last two backlog elimination drives, and I wanted to further my impact on the future of the project. Through the contribution team and Wikimedia's other outreach initiatives, I've been working on getting newcomers involved in contributing. I hope to further my duty and help guide WikiProject Wikify into the future. Thanks, Mono (talk) 03:16, 11 January 2011 (UTC) (up for executive coordinator)[reply]
I'm not opposed but i think mono would be a better assist candidate. He has done good work however i feel that he can not be the most reliable. I feel there are better executive candidates out there. He also has no prior experience coordinating which concerns me as the others have had some. JoeGazz ▲ 03:27, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Try reading the third sentence: "I've helped coordinate the last two backlog elimination drives". Guoguo12--Talk-- 15:59, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have, I do not see him doing "coordination", I would like diffs to show the coordination. He just invites. JoeGazz ▲ 00:20, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I helped coordinate the last(December 2010) drive and have been active on the project since the beginning of October 2010. I have been active(or overactive) on Wikipedia since January 2010. Helping to grow a project and help new editors on a sometimes difficult subject is a challenge I feel I am ready to handle. Thank you to everyone for this opportunity to grow Wikipedia. Assistant. Mono (talk) 02:38, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was invited to the first backlog elimination drive by a member of this Project who had also participated in a GOCE drive with me. Since then, I have been an active member of Project Wikify, helping with the latest changes to our Project's pages and image, and even being an assistant coordinator in the latest drive. I'm only running for Assistant Coordinator, as I believe their there are others more suited to the Executive job. Thanks for your support! I think I invited you to the first drive. In my opinion, the first drive was a total failure, only serving to delay the backlog and as a groundwork for future drives. WikiCopter (♠ • ♣ • ♥ • ♦ • simple • commons • lost • cvu • onau) 04:58, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm Guoguo12, and I've been an active member of WikiProject Wikify for some time now. I actively wikified in both of the last two drives, and I've appeared on the leaderboard once each drive for most pages wikified. Currently, I am zealously participating in discussions regarding the upcoming February drive (since I'm a coordinator), and I've even introduced a few new ideas. I am running for only assistant coordinator. Thanks and keep wikifying! Guoguo12--Talk-- 17:36, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am WikiCopter. I've been an active member of WWF for quite a bit, before ever Mono or (I think) even Guoguo and Sumsum. I've been working hard coordinating this drive inofficially, I would like to be honored with the official title. I currently do not actively wikify, as my focus is on the WikiCup, but I am able to change my focus back if I am elected. I was on before that, I think for coord purposes. (remember, you were co-coord in the dec drive). WikiCopter (♠ • ♣ • ♥ • ♦ • simple • commons • lost • cvu • onau) 04:56, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as an original '06 founder of the project :) I think I beat you both ;) --Errant(chat!) 12:43, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Question: WikiCopter, you said that the first drive was a "total failure". What do you think of the last drive? Guoguo12--Talk-- 17:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The last one was relatively OK... except the numbers went up at the end. I hope the Feb one will be a SMASHING success :). WikiCopter (♠ • ♣ • ♥ • ♦ • simple • commons • lost • cvu • onau) 20:35, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
