CORPORATE HISTORY

The Roswell Railroad was incorporated under the general laws of Georgia, by the assignee of the purchasers of the Atlanta and Roswell Rail Road Company, through filing with the secretary of the State of Georgia in July, 1880, a petition to succeed to the property, rights, and franchises of the latter, the property of which was sold through foreclosure of a contractor's lien, on October 2, 1877, to a purchasing committee. The property was conveyed by deed dated July 28, 1879, to James W. Robertson, assignee of the purchasers, who reconveyed the property to the Roswell Railroad by deed dated July 15, 1880.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

Shortly after its incorporation, the Roswell Railroad purchased the unfinished narrow-gage road of the Atlanta and Roswell Rail Road, between Chamblee and Roswell, Ga., and therafter[sic] completed the construction of same between those points, a distance of 9.082 miles, on September 1, 1881.
