The railroad of the Alcolu Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, extending northeastwardly from Alcolu, S. C., to Hams, S. C., a distance of 32.841 miles. The carrier wholly owns and uses 37.976 miles of all tracks, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated March 15, 1902, under the general laws of South Carolina. The date of its organization was July 2, 1902.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The mileage owned by the carrier, 32.841 miles, was acquired by purchase and by construction, as indicated in the following statement:
