Near-certainly.
I asked for help over the French-wiki where one ignored whilst the other two said that their subscriptions have long expired. (TWL ought to keep a list of users who have access to different sources.)
Consuming one subscription for accessing a single book is a bit selfish. WBGconverse 13:08, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for access to individual resources isn't really a process we support right now. I will say that we have a lot of accesses available for L'Harmattan, so I wouldn't worry about taking an account for just one, or a few, sources. Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 08:08, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article by Judith Shapiro edit

Hello, I am looking for the text of Judith Shapiro's article "The Battle of the Sexes", for use at the article The Evolution of Human Sexuality. Publication details: Science 14 Mar 1980: Vol. 207, Issue 4436, pp. 1193-1194. DOI: 10.1126/science.207.4436.1193. There is a link to an excerpt from the article here. The London Magazine review edit

For Brian Howell (currently being PRODed). I'm looking for Lichtig's review on Howell's work in it. The best option is if someone can find a copy and send me the two pages, but if anyone can just read it and say whether it is a suitable review that would be a good 2nd option.

A small fragment of the a different year and edition from the journal can be found here, but it doesn't include the necessary piece which has an alternate review and would be good to find as a secondary option (pp 104-105, for this edition)

Thanks! Nosebagbear (talk) 11:23, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nosebagbear: so it's April-May 2003 rather than June-July 2005? ——SerialNumber54129 11:33, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I'm hitting a blindspot. 1954-2001 and several earlier date ranges are available via ProQuest, and 2012-present via EBSCO. But my (rather limited) searching capabilities are not finding either of those years. Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:34, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I need pages 58 to 59, including the article's title and author's name. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:32, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kailash29792: Can you tell us which article you plan to use the resource to expand on? OhanaUnitedTalk page 22:15, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The original intention was only Mullum Malarum. If I see any other film talked about in the article, that too. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:44, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kailash29792: Volunteers here don't always have direct access to a source, but may still be able to order it for you from a library or through a personal connection, if you supply full bibliographic information.
Help us help you. You can get the complete information by asking Google Books. Start on their page you linked. At the bottom, click "Report an issue". That brings up a "Contact us" form. Choose the last option, "I have a question or feedback about a book". Fill in the contact section, give them the page numbers 58-59, categorize your inquiry as "Other", and explain that you need the issue, date, article title, and author in order to request the article from the closed stacks of a library. They are usually very helpful. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:38, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've done just that. --Kailash29792 (talk) 13:49, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've made an ILL request but given the lack of bibliographic information, I'm not sure how long this will take and if it will be successful. — Pajz (talk) 16:28, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kailash29792, no luck at my end. Only issues 1 and 2 are available in Germany and it doesn't appear to be in issue 2 (I have the pages in front of me ... it's the beginning of an essay titled "When the Sun Set on Prabhat (from Keshavrao Bhole's essay collection Antara)"). — Pajz (talk) 15:00, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One of the two authors is K. Hariharan. Did you find the page reading that? Kailash29792 (talk) 16:45, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kailash29792, I'm not sure I understand the question. As I said, I could only check the pages from the 2nd issue and the article isn't there. It might be in issue no. 3, issue no. 4, or Google may have misidentified the page -- I wouldn't know. — Pajz (talk) 01:51, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kailash29792, try asking Google to confirm the issue/date/pages, using the "Report an issue" link at the bottom of the Google Books page, and then selecting "I have a question or feedback about a book." They're usually quite responsive. --Usernameunique (talk) 03:46, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tried that, still no response. I wish they'd be available for purchase digitally. However, by scanning through the table of contents, I deduced that the article title must simply be "Tamil Nadu". Kailash29792 (talk) 04:06, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kailash29792, completely missed that part above. I would try again, though; normally it only takes a few days, so perhaps that request simply got mislaid somewhere. --Usernameunique (talk) 04:15, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Smartse: No worries. I highly suggest requesting for access :) P.S. I think it's technically a 2011 article as footwear says "The executive came under fire last week" so it'd be April 3rd 2011. Here's part one and part two of clipping clipped by someone else (the 900k is the left hand part) but the original story was talked about in 2009. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 21:17, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) @Smartse: You want the series of three articles from April 3, 2011. MrLinkinPark333 has provided the main one, email me for copies of "Some Soles4Souls shoes sold overseas" and "Elsey's salary among tops for social service group leaders" if you want them. --Worldbruce (talk) 21:21, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Super Dromaeosaurus, well, not to discourage anyone here, but that's about 350 pages plus two additional articles with an unknown page range (if I'm understanding you correctly), none of which seems to exist in digital form. I mean, always happy to help out here, but quite frankly that would be a lot even if all the regular users on this page collaborated on filling the request ... In light of this, if any of your requested articles are of higher priority than others, it might be worthwhile to add that information to the request. — Pajz (talk) 22:54, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I did not have high hopes with that set of documents either, but I preferred to reduce the number of requests. Now I have added them separately but not all have complete information. My priorities are the first three documents and the fifth. I doubt that I will edit the articles for which I need the rest until at least a month, so I could delete them and request them later? And a note: the second one is definitely from 1973 but the link says it's from 1971, I don't know why. Super Ψ Dro 07:44, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trying to see if this book mentions a 1930 law about the name of the city. This book was mentioned in: Cook, Steven A. The Struggle for Egypt: From Nasser to Tahrir Square. Oxford University Press, 21 March 2013. ISBN 0199931771, 9780199931774. p. 309

Article in Architectural Digest edit

Hello. In order to create William Yeoward, could someone please send me a PDF or a copy and paste of:

Please ping me when you have it. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 03:07, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Zigzig20s: Have you tried to create a free account? All they want is an email address and password, which will give you free access to four articles. —Bruce1eetalk 06:13, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and it doesn't work.Zigzig20s (talk) 06:43, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That's surprising. Anyway, the June 2019 issue of Architectural Digest doesn't appear to have this story. Perhaps it will appear in the July issue, which hasn't been published yet. —Bruce1eetalk 06:51, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Zigzig20s, also not in the July/August issue. Maybe it's online-only content. If so, it seems rather unlikely that someone has institutional access to that. As others have said, according to their website, signing up should give you access to a few articles. If that doesn't work, as you say, I would drop them an email. They want to sell subscriptions, after all, so it should be in their interest that new user accounts work the way they are supposed to work. — Pajz (talk) 22:29, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pigsonthewing, with pre-1900 journals, the odds that there is a digitised version of the entire bound volume are pretty high (you could use a meta-engine such as KVK to check). In this case, for instance, there are at least four separate digital versions (NYPL via archive.org, Harvard and Princeton via Hathitrust, Smithsonian Libraries via BHL/archive.org).
