Looking for a solid citation for this quotation by Philippe Pétain: « je suis et demeure moralement votre chef» ("I am and remain morally your leader.")

Tried all the usual places (and some unusual ones). Beware of seemingly easy solutions from Google books; this discussion explains why three sources easily available in Google books may not be acceptable. One of them (listed below) cites footnote "24" as the source for this quotation, and if you have access to this specific book and can identify what footnote 24 refers to, that may lead us to a solution. The best source I know for French archival material is BNF/Gallica, and they show nothing for this quotation. This discussion lists six sources which might help, if anyone has access to them.

  • Lormier, Dominique (2019). Les vérités cachées de la Seconde Guerre [Hidden Truths of the Second World War] (in French). Monaco: Editions du Rocher. ISBN 978-2-268-10190-3. OCLC 1104328730. Retrieved 1 October 2021. Petain cede finalement a la demande allemande. Le 20 aout 1944, il est emmene contre son gre par les Nazis a Belfort puis, le 8 septembre, a Sigmaringen en Allemagne, ou se sont egalement refugie les dignataires vichyste. True, that's rather vague; but it's a bit helpful, and also reminds me that different users sometimes get to see different snippet windows into the partial preview mode of Google books, as I didn't see what you did (sometimes even the same user at different times), so perhaps someone else will see a bit more than we have.
An interesting sidebar, or perhaps sideshow of this whole thing, is that there's a bit of mystery and intrigue behind all this. French historian Dominique Lormier who wrote that vague footnote has been previously accused of plagiarism by a consortium of French historians (see fr:Dominique Lormier; auto-translation here) which just thickens the plot. It's a rather striking, even iconic quotation, really (reminds me of L'etat, c'est moi), and if authenticated, would be the kind of thing that would end up in books of memorable quotations by important figures, and Lormier would be the one most likely to be cited for it.
And yet, before French user fr:83.113.203.32 (talk · contribs) came along in 2006, nobody seems to have heard of it. Is it possible Lormier *thought* he knew this Pétain quote by heart, maybe he had scanned Wikipedia years before for fun or to make sure he wasn't missing something, forgot about it, and then innocently added the quotation to two books of his a dozen years later without having a solid citation in front of him so simply added that vague reference to Archives Nationales instead? Hello @Mathglot:. Dominique Lormier (fr:Dominique Lormier) cannot be considered as a serious historian. He often gives archives nationales, Paris or Archives fédérales, Berlin instead of using true references. Thanks, Le Petit Chat. I was wondering about that. I've removed the quotation from the four articles in en-wiki where it occurred, and probably I'll have to take a stand at fr-wiki as well, and advocate for removing the quotation from there as well. The IP editor who originally added the information to the French article in 2006 never used a single reference for any of his edits during his wikipedia career, which maybe wasn't that unusual in 2006, but nevertheless, probably all of his edits need to be looked at again. Request on study on Babur erecting a skull tower of the heads of his enemies. edit

I would like to see this study - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Chanderi#cite_note-Chandra-5 - particularly the pages which are relevant to the ordering of the tower of skulls of the opponent if possible. I would like to see it so I can verify if it is actually the truth, since many facts about rulers in India simply turn out to be poorly backed - and more often than not, canards.

Sister 2 Sister (Nivea interview) edit

I would use this magazine to improve the "Laundromat" (song) article. It contains an interview with the singer Nivea. The Google Books preview is very, very limited, but from that, I can see that she talks about the song on pages 18, 20, and 21. If possible, I would greatly appreciate the full interview as it does provide some helpful background information on the song.

I had put in a request for this magazine article back in March 2020, but I did not get an answer. This is likely due to this being a rather old and obscure magazine issue, but I wanted to ask again as I am planning on completely rewriting the "Laundromat" article. According to Google Books, the magazine was originally uploaded by University of Wisconsin - Madison. I tried contacting a librarian there, but I did not have any success with that. I'm also seeking an article entitled where I don't know the source: "I would do the Same Again" --- Triple Killer: Mine Blast Gets Minimum of 25 years Jail by Deric Henderson published on 24/5/1974. It's probably a Northern Irish paper. Image of it can be found on twitter.

The book is difficult to find, but, in the book "The Making of Saudi Arabia, 1916-1936: From Chieftaincy to Monarchical State (Studies in Middle Eastern History)" the author points to the events of September 1918 as the source of this book, which can be considered the primary source. Letter from the European Commission regarding Alitalia asset sale edit

ITA - Italia Trasporto Aereo mentions that "on 8 January 2021, the European Commission sent a letter to the Italian Permanent Representative to the European Union to launch an “open, transparent, non-discriminatory and unconditional tender” to shed Alitalia assets. The letter consists of 62 requests for clarification, rejecting the idea that the old carrier could sell its belongings to the new company in private negotiation. The letter stated that ITA should not retain the Alitalia brand, since the brand is an emblematic indicator of continuity. The European Commission suggested that the combined aviation, ground handling, and maintenance businesses should be sold separately to a third party. It also suggested that the slots must be sold, and the MilleMiglia program in its entirety could not be transferred to the new corporate entity." This is cited to: "Nuova Alitalia, ecco la lettera dell'Unione Europea che rischia di bloccare l'operazione" [New Alitalia, here is the letter from the European Union that risks blocking the operation]. espresso.repubblica.it. 19 January 2021. ... which is behind a paywall, but I'm not specifically interested in the newspaper article. Rather, I was hoping to find a copy of the original letter on the European Commission's website, but so far I haven't been able to find it. Is it available, or was my assumption that the EC would make it publicly available mistaken?

This would be the best bet to prove it is real and to possibly improve the article further.

Danu Widjajanto, I'm slightly confused about #1. You're linking to (the Google preview of) an epub version - which does not have page numbers - and the ISBN also appears be that of the epub version. So where does your page range come from?
