The project's Coordinator Elections are almost upon us, and will take place during September. All members of the project are encouraged to participate either by voting for coordinators or by running for one of the positions. The project has two academy essays that may be of interest: becoming a coordinator and advice from former coordinators. Please feel free to ask questions of the current coordinators as well.
This edition of the Bugle features our first op-ed in a while. RobDuch has shared his interest in United States coastal defenses, and how he has gone about developing articles on the topic. The op-ed also includes an interesting history of these fortifications.
The regular book review section features four reviews by Hawkeye7 and Nick-D. Hawkeye7 has reviewed a work on the British Empire's armies during the world wars and the memoirs of an Australian spy who served as a weapons inspector in Iraq. Nick's reviews cover a naval history of the American Revolutionary War and an account of the Royal Australian Air Force's mine laying campaign in World War II.
Last but not least, the article news section includes seven new A-class articles, five new featured articles and a featured list. The recent run of new featured pictures has been broken though, which is a bit of a shame.
In another low-scoring month of the writing contest, the winner for July was Gog the Mild with 55 points from six entries. Zawed edged the runner-up position with 43 points from seven entries ahead of Hog Farm with 41 points from four entries. Tomobe03 and Djmaschek also submitted entries. This means that in the overall contest Gog the Mild takes a one point lead from Zawed, who in turn only is only five points ahead of Hog Farm. As always, ensure the articles you work on are entered for the current edition of the contest!
