- Several discussions about splitting some categories on the Nominations page have been held at the talk page of that page. The main proposal has been to split Sports and recreation.
- A request for comment about proposals to supplement or replace the backlog elimination drives has been started by Hahc21. The RFC is designed to serve as a workshop for all the new proposals that are meant to replace the backlog elimination drives at the Good Article nominations process and to help increase the number of reviewers and encourage users to become reviewers.
- A discussion regarding a possible new Sweeps program is currently being held. Several users have supported the Sweeps idea, although others have argued that the project lacks the manpower that would be necessary to carry on this task. GamerPro64, the proposer of the new Sweeps program, stated that although "the first Sweep lasted for two and a half years... it was accomplished." On the other side, Dana boomer was a bit skeptical, commenting that a new Sweeps program "wouldn't be completed until 2028." Both Aircorn and Hahc21 designed several lists to organize which articles would be swept. Epipelagic, on a side note, stated that completing a Sweeps program would be no issue, because "there is available a well known group of admins, arbs and former arbs, admin wannabees and others on Wikipedia who showed great diligence driving Malleus [Fatuorum] away, basically on the grounds that Malleus has no net value." Fatuorum reviewed more than 400 articles in the last Sweeps program.
- A requets for comment proposing a new wording for the quickfail criteria, proposed by Aircorn, is currently being held. Aircorn proposed a change that basically leaved the "quickfail" word out of the system, emphasizing a more neutral "instant fail" statement. His proposed changes can be seen at Wikipedia talk:Good article criteria/Alternative version-1. So far, the proposal has gained pretty much support, and is expected to be enacted as soon as the RFC closes.
