This is the queue of accepted nominations. Clerks will add new accepted nominations at the bottom. The next Editor of the Week is taken from the top of the list.

Note: Nominations that have been placed on hold can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/Editor of the Week/Accepted nominations/Hold.

I nominate Daniel Case (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their tireless efforts to protect Wikipedia. According to Xtools, they've protected almost 2,500 pages over the past year, which is nearly 50% more than the person with the second most (not counting JPxG who added protection to thousands of old signpost pages)! In addition to being the most active participant by far at requests for page protection, they've also handed out over 21.5 THOUSAND blocks. They've been an admin for over 17 years now and haven't gone a single month without editing, something very few others have been able to do. Their contributions to the site and their passion for protecting it should not go unrecognized, because they are very much appreciated and make the site a better place. I nominate SD0001 (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their technical work and motivational acumen. They run SDZeroBot, a bot which allow editors to generate their own database reports based on specified SQL queries, which also elegantly generates some of our most useful reports, such as NPP sorting, AfC sorting, draftify watch, and much, much more. In addition to their efforts as a bot operator, they've also been a member of the Bot Approvals Group since late 2020, where they spend time reviewing and processing requests at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval. They've also spent time creating a number of useful scripts that are widely used by the community at large. Fortunately for all of us, they don't stop there, SD0001 has also made significant contributions elsewhere, such as to existing gadgets, including Twinkle and the Articles for Creation Helper Script, as well as having made contributions to core MediaWiki. Many users speak to how much they appreciate SD's contributions and motivational skills. Recognition for all they've done is the least that we can do. I nominate Howardcorn33 (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for revamping List of photographs considered the most important and creating Blinking Sam. Sebbog13 (talk) 23:05, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Since it's been some time since the nomination, I did a bit of digging myself, which I hope Sebbog13 won't mind! Howardcorn33 shows signs of a promising editing career ahead of them. In addition to the article work mentioned in the nomination — I'm personally also a fan of their creation   List of edit wars on Wikipedia — they have contributed several pieces of quality media to the featured pictures process, the often-forgotten fourth type of featured content. And, as you'd expect, they've also put in their time at Commons, helping make various freely licensed images more widely available to the community. I look forward to seeing where they go next on the project! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 07:12, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
WP:TPO is designed for talk pages. Realistically, this page is outside the realm of TPO and always has been. I have been melding support, seconds and refitting nominations for many years . I am Always looking to incorporate what was said after the original nomination (which in this case was scant). I see no problem and will revert soon unless you want to rewrite the whole thing using your words and his. Buster Seven Talk (UTC) 12:09, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I posted a recap of the roles of the various Editor of the Week pages at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention/Editor of the Week. This comment can be deleted if the preceding one is removed. isaacl (talk) 14:58, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Though I might be a little biased due to our extensive collaborations, I think most editors would agree Skyshifter (talk · contribs · count · logs) deserves recognition for the tireless work she's been putting into the encyclopedia over the past few months. She currently has promoted 27 good articles — 17 of them in the last six months — as well as three featured articles, among them being   Worlds (Porter Robinson album) (our co-nomination!) and   OneShot (my favorite work of hers). Her focus has been primarily on music- and video game–related topics, but she's also put a lot of time into Brazilian cultural topics, a largely underrepresented area of content on the English Wikipedia. Oh, and did I mention English isn't even her first language? I hope you'll join me and share your appreciation for the excellent service she's provided to the project. I nominate WeatherWriter (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for significant contributions, in the main space and all around, involving weather and other meteorological topics (including wildfires). This user has helped expand the amount of good articles on these topics, where he has successfully nominated six tornado-related articles to GA status. He has also successfully promoted five images to featured picture status, four of which are related to weather. He even has at least one open FAC (2022 Pembroke–Black Creek tornado). This user also works behind-the-scenes, making editors within WikiProject Weather aware of active discussions which may change the landscape of weather editing for years to come ([1] and [2]), allowing members of the project to participate in these discussions. He also works in the rating of files ([3]), and participates in Articles for Deletion relating to weather ([4]). He is one of the most active users within the weather scope, and is an amazing editor all-around! Sir MemeGod ._. (talk - contribs - created articles) 18:26, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I nominate YorkshireExpat (talk · contribs · count · logs) for the Editor of the Week award. A dedicated editor with thousands of edits over the last four years. They form part of the backbone of Wikipedia's collection of taxon articles. They regularly tweak, improve, categorise, and maintain taxon articles, manage our vast system of taxonomy templates for species boxes, create redirects, and move pages. One of our most valuable tree of life editors – at least, in my opinion. Cremastra (talk) 19:14, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I nominate LaundryPizza03 (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week as he is a great asset to the categories for discussion team. Having accumulated almost 50,000 edits since 2017, 4,000 of which are to categories, he has closed some 2,100 XfDs and has the fifth most edits to Wikipedia talk:Categories for discussion/Working. He has also written several articles in areas ranging from chemistry, astronomy, and even a media company! His dedication in often-neglected areas of the project is much appreciated and deserves recognition. Queen of Hearts (talk) 01:16, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
