Does this link qualify as a valid reference - http://beta.nli.org.il/en/books/NNL_ALEPH003869113/NLI? Thanks, regards Vinvibes (talk) 11:16, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vinvibes (talk) 11:16, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vinvibes. One would not normally use an inline citation for content such as, "Jesse's first book, The Egotist, was published in 2014. It is the story of his journey from New York to the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Group, Petach Tikvah, in Israel."
The author, title, and year of publication are all on the book's edition notice (copyright page). That doesn't prove it was his first book, but that is unlikely to be a matter of contention. As long as the synopsis is simple and straightforward enough that any reader would agree with it, the book itself can again serve as the source. Using a library catalog entry as a reference adds no value, and unnecessarily muddies the waters. Typically one lists all of an author's books in a Works section near the end. One doesn't normally use inline citations there (the ISBN link is sufficient), but there are advantages to using citation formatting, as so:
  • Bogner, Jesse (2014). The Egoist. Toronto: Laitman Kabbalah Publishers. ISBN 978-1-897448-98-4.
The draft's larger problem is that there's almost zero chance that "young" and "emerging author" Bogner (writer of three books) is notable (suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia), so drafting an encyclopedia article about him is almost certainly a waste of time, as is will not be accepted for publication. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:32, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Worldbruce, many thanks for the inputs. It is in fact true that there are hardly any references that can be used for this, so I was wondering if shortening the article could make any difference. I am relatively new on this platform and am generally experimenting and exploring options, so was wondering if eliminating sections such as 'Early Life' which does not have any citation could be omitted altogether. Then it would be a much shorter article with just 3 references - do you recommend this course of action? I have also notified them about WP:TOOSOON concept, so not as if am under any kind of pressure. Thanks again, regards, Vinvibes (talk) 17:04, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vinvibes: Shortening could be a solution to any problems of verifiability, but until a subject clears the bar of notability, it isn't eligible for an article of any length. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:03, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Worldbruce:, okay - if the 3 existing references are not sufficient for proving notability, then I guess I will have to wait a bit longer. Thanks for the help and guidance, regards, Vinvibes (talk) 06:31, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any estimated time for this article review? Thank you so much, as this is quite urgent. InternationalObservatoryofHumanRights (talk) 14:20, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Declined for not establishing that the organization is notable (suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia). --Worldbruce (talk) 14:35, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Declined - Hi @196.207.93.30: - The sources failed to demonstrate notability for the site, as none of the sources were sufficiently independent (more explanation in-draft). Nosebagbear (talk) 19:13, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

How can I add reference to the page i created?

Arun Ravi (talk) 18:31, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Arun Ravi: - have a look at Referencing for beginners. The Teahouse is also a great place to ask if you have questions. Luck with the references! Nosebagbear (talk) 19:08, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
