Hi, I wrote a page about Japanese celebrity Chiaki Hara last week. I was just wondering if it is being processed and when it will be uploaded? Thanks Mattyh10 (talk) 01:13, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mattyh10, I have submitted the page for you. It is likely to be reviewed within the next three weeks. I suggest you try to improve it while you wait. It would be advisable to have at least one more independent reliable source. Some of the material is not supported by either of the references listed at the end. Also, because it is a biography of a living person, any content likely to be challenged (basically any remarkable statement) needs an inline citation to its source. See Help:Referencing for beginners for more information. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:39, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The user who created the page foolishly created it at the same time the song was released, thus leaving the notability to be ambiguous. Now that the song has been out for almost a day and has been covered extensively along with its music video, can the page please be re-reviewed with consideration to the references I have added? Thanks! MetropolisHearts (talk) 06:29, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rituparna Bhattacharjee became a headline in the newspapers after her publication of Bhutia. She was recognised as the youngest female writer of Bengali literature at the age of 11. we have all records and all the scanned copies where she is hailed by the eminent writers of Bengali literature as a 'wonder girl' and in Prabashi Anandabazar Patrika from London she is interviewed along with another child prodigy in music . Kindly allow us to send you the scanned copies of all paper cuttngs and letter of recommendation from eminent writers like Syed Mustafa Siraj and Tarapada Roy . Kindly consider her as a Child prodigy of literature ( a new section of Bengali literature ) if you are really not able to include her in your biography section. Why cannot she be inluded in the Child Prodigy list when she showed marvellus feats of literary creativity before her 10 years of age and the publication of the book at 11. Sujit kumar bose (talk) 08:47, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sujit kumar bose: Wikipedia, Researchgate, and Merinews are all user-generated and thus not reliable sources. Ishitiya may be reliable, but the editorial oversight is unclear. The tone on its about page suggests it will publish anything submitted. Ishtiya mentions a book review in The Statesman, which would be a reliable source. You may cite it and reviews in other mainstream media if you have the essential publication information: Name of publication, date of publication, and title of article. If you have more information, such as the author's name, place of publication, and the number of the page on which the article appeared, include that as well. There is no need to scan or send any material.
Whether the subject can be included on a particular list in Wikipedia is a content question that is outside the scope of this help desk. It should be decided by consensus on the talk page of the list in question. Inclusion is unlikely without better references than those cited in Draft:Rituparna Bhattacharjee. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:27, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 202.142.76.38, I have copied the above text to Draft:Dr. BISWA ROY : Bio-graph and Film graph of the Director, where I think you meant to put it. Please improve the draft with citations to independent reliable sources (see "Your First Article"). Without them it will not be accepted. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:35, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, my second submission has been declined again with the same reason. I have revised my page with sources often used in other K-Pop related Wiki pages (and they make it through). So I'm curious where do I do wrong..? I'll be grateful if you can help me. Thank you in advance :)Nizzyool (talk) 14:56, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nizzyool (talk) 14:56, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nizzyool, Don't make the mistake of assuming that because a reference is used in another article it must be an "approved" source. Wikipedia is forever a work in progress. It contains high quality content and low quality content. The existence of low quality material does not mean said material has been endorsed by experienced editors. It may just mean that no one has gotten around to deleting it yet. It's best to reason from policies and guidelines rather than random articles.
WikiProject Korea maintains a consensus list of reliable and unreliable sources in their sphere. The draft cites some publishers from their reliable list, such as StarNews, MWave, and OSEN, but also cites publishers from their unreliable list, such as Allkpop, Officially Kmusic, and Soompi. Allkpop and Soompi have been considered several times at the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard:
Opinions have varied, but have generally not been kind. One editor opined "I have yet to come across a K-pop article that shouldn't be labeled with a fancruft tag, and this ubiquitous use of allkpop (which reports on everything, and consequently the fans add this everything in clear violation of WP:FART) as a reference is only an invitation to more cruft." An editor in favor of expanding Korean pop-culture coverage described Soompi as "below even my evidential standards."
Remove/replace sources that are unreliable, and all content sourced only to them. If you are unsure whether a source (such as KpopStarz) is reliable for the purpose of notability, start a discussion about it at WP:RSN or Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:43, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for replying, your advice is very helpful. I'm revising my draft and will resubmit soon. Hopefully it will make through :) Nizzyool (talk) 10:49, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. My page didn't get publiced because our team is not in the pro-scene and i was just wondering isn't that bit too much just so we can post page about our team? We are pretty well-known with over 14k followers on Twitter and 3,7k subscribers in YouTube. I used a lot time to make that page and now i'm feeling bit confused about this. Thanks -Ika Nuutinen IkaNuutinen (talk) 15:03, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

STRIKING BEAUTIES BOXING GYM

Striking beauties boxing (talk) 15:52, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Striking beauties boxing: Welcome to the Help Desk. Do you have a particular question about the draft? It has been nominated for speedy deletion because it is purely promotional. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia where content must be written objectively and neutrally. If you are looking to promote your gym, I would suggest opening a social media account instead, or working on a company website. Further, because you likely have a conflict of interest with respect to this subject, I would strongly recommend that you not work on articles about the gym on Wikipedia. Thank you, /wiae /tlk 17:21, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'd like to understand why the article was declined.

Thanks,

Dave Daveshowey (talk) 17:20, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daveshowey, The draft was declined because it contains a large amount of information unsuitable for a Wikipedia biography, and a dearth of suitable sources. Being the holder of patents is not in and of itself notable. Nor is http://patents.justia.com/inventor/william-r-pape a source that helps establish notability. Remove that entire portion of the draft. A press release does not count towards notability either, because it is not independent of the subject.
That leaves only the Bloomberg source, which is insufficient. Arms-length, reliable, secondary sources are required to establish notability. Multiple sources are needed, and they must contain a significant depth of material. The subject flourished in the 1980s and 1990s, so it may be difficult to find sources online. A library may be helpful. In addition to their physical collection, one can often get access to proprietary historical news databases.
Assuming you eventually find enough sources to prove notability, you may use non-independent sources such as [1] for a small part of the article, but the bulk of it must be based on the independent sources. Worldbruce (talk) 22:58, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
