October 23 edit

08:56:04, 23 October 2014 review of submission by Scpj edit

I've added more references (secondary and primary) and have also expanded the text - also giving three interesting examples of the kind of stories contained in Ely Ensign. Is there any more I can usefully do before I leave it for submission?

15:33:00, 23 October 2014 review of submission by IgScira edit

IgScira (talk) 15:33, 23 October 2014 (UTC) Dear Wiki people, I would really like to place this article on Wikipedia,(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:GloballyPeace) but on someway it is not accepted because of the article verbiage. Can you please help me with your advise so I can edit my article and publish / place it on the article list of Wiki soonest. IgScira[reply]

It has nothing to do with verbiage. There are no references, therefore it s not notable. We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. It may not be notable anyway. 18:00:23, 23 October 2014 review of submission by Rfsumano edit

I submitted a page related to a band. It was rejected aparently because whoever reviwed things I am involved in that band However, I don't even know the members of that group. It is a side project of members of other bands. THey have records around and can be easily found. Once again, I have nothing to do with this band or its members. Their other bands are already in Wikipedia so I don't see any reason why it should not be posted. Or maybe whatever I submit will be rejected? Rfsumano (talk) 18:00, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that you have not shown notability doesn't depend on whether you are involved with the band or not. It depends on independent, reliable sources of information (such as newspapers, magazines, books, broadcast news programs, or similar). Other bands have these sources, or they too should be removed from Wikipedia. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 18:48, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Note: There are other links in the decline reason that you may find useful. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 18:49, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Rfsumano: Your draft was rejected because it has no references. We require several independent and reliable sources to establish that the subject meets our specific criteria for bands. I understand your confusion; many editors write articles using other articles as a guide. This is a faulty practice since many Wikipedia articles are poorly written. The accusation that you have a conflict of interest didn't come from us, but from 79.182.124.125 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) in regards to your editing of Nekronos. 21:16:29, 23 October 2014 review of submission by DCVAWriter edit

DCVAWriter (talk) 21:16, 23 October 2014 (UTC) Would anyone be able to tell me if anything needed for the review process to work is missing from this draft article? I submitted it on September 11 and have continued to edit it, but it is still unpublished or reviewed. I know there is a backlog and I don't mind waiting, I'm just concerned that something I may or may not have done is causing a delay. Thanks![reply]

@DCVAWriter:   Not sure I'm unsure about this draft. It's well-written. Most of your sources are at the edges of what I'd consider reliable and you don't have enough of the definite sources to make this an easy call. The subject has to pass WP:GNG and I'm not certain he does. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:41, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@DCVAWriter:   Not sure I am also unsure, and I have left a note to that effect on the draft. The review is not delayed by what you have or have not done, it is just the delay. I think you do need to work on finding what makes him notable. I can't spot it either. Fiddle Faddle 22:11, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

23 October 2014 review of submission by Piandme edit

Piandme (talk) 23 October 2014 (UTC)

I only created the article today, but due to its high notability, and the fact it has already released a trailer, and will be available in five months I feel it needs to be available as soon as possible on Wikpedia.

Wikipedia does not care for deadlines. We have a substantial backlog. Your draft will be reviewed when it is reviewed. Meanwhile please work on it to make it impossible to decline. Fiddle Faddle 22:59, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Piandme: the irony is that you have not submitted it for review. Your ball, I believe. Fiddle Faddle 23:01, 23 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Faddle Wow, I can't believe your rude response. I have submitted it, but it says I haven't when I have. I'm going to keep trying to again, but yeah... That still doesn't mean it can't be reviewed anyway. Also if there was a terrorist attack tomorrow I would expect an article that day. A huge TV show should have ppriority over a little known indivdual, for example. Unfortunately, I think someone else will get there first with my article. Thanks for your help (or not) #rude Piandme (talk) 18:27, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Expect away. We have a huge backlog. Maybe someone will review this when you submit it. We do not take kindly to folk attempting blatant queue jumping. People review as volunteers. Fiddle Faddle 20:10, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
