I am here to ask how come in the infobox of an article I made it shows the occupation and stuff but the born part doesn't show up. (it's a person) Kitkalix (talk) 06:25, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kitkalix. I don't think the infobox template you're using actually has a "born" field, it only has a "birth_date" field. I think I've fixed it now. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 07:30, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi everyone. Two questions: 1) I submitted revisions to a page called Fifth Street Management awhile ago (9/26) and the page is still being reviewed. It says this takes over a month. Can anyone help expedite this? Second question: I'm trying to live chat with users on the webchat, but it's not letting me type anything. Is there a trick to this? Thank you all very much!! PeterJohnson22 (talk) 11:40, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@PeterJohnson22: The review process is extremely backlogged, and while it's unfortunate that many articles take over a month to be reviewed, that is the reality. Since your article has been in the queue for a while it should be reviewed soon. As to the webchat, try using this alternate chat client: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/?nick=WPhelp?#wikipedia-en-help --Ahecht (TALK

Qazwsxcderfv (talk) 11:42, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Qazwsxcderfv: If you are referring to User:Qazwsxcderfv/sandbox, it was rejected because it was not suitable for an encyclopedia. It appears to be an essay in which you attempt to "Critically asses the relevance of sustainability as a concept of understanding urban development", however, by definition, your assessment is either original research or a synthesis of published material. This sort of content is not appropriate on Wikipedia. If you wish to publish your work, I would recommend you get a personal blog or webpage. --Ahecht (TALK

16:24:20, 5 November 2014 review of submission by Simone Walker

Simone Walker (talk) 16:24, 5 November 2014 (UTC) I did everything correctly but basically was told I was not popular enough although I have put in the work and have incredible sources such as AllMusic, MTV, and pretty much all online music retail networks. My first albums retail value is at 19.99 and the highest is at 52.00. What other information do I need to provide or is Wikipedia built for celebrities only. Ps. I have also been included on wiki.[reply]

@Simone Walker: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Who or what gets an article is based on notability, not popularity. Notability is permanent and established by other sources (magazines, news articles) writing about the impact of a person on their field (yours is music, I am assuming.) Who has written articles about your music? See the guidelines for notability here. Also, writing about yourself is strongly discouraged (see this article for guidelines.) Dear Sir,

I have submitted an article about " Ambo Univeristy". It is rejected saying "The reference is not reliable. I do not understand why it is not reliable as it is copied from the official website of the university. Best regards

@Desta Milkessa: The comment below the rejection notice specified that your article "needs reliable independent sources". While the official website is reliable, it is not independent. Also, articles should use more that one reliable source (Wikipedia is NOT considered a reliable source and should not be cited). --Ahecht (TALK

@Desta Milkessa: Also, the article should've been rejected because you simply copied and pasted text from the official website, which is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. You must write things in your own words. --Ahecht (TALK

Resubmission?

re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:R._C._H%C3%B6rsch

1. The article was listed as "rejected" and that sounds kind-of final. If not, what is the procedure (if any) for re-submission?

2. I tried making corrections but my changes were unceremoniously "restored" --so how am I to make corrections?

3. I cannot get into the chat section because it asks for a "nickname" and I have no idea what my nickname may be.

Thank you very much for your time and trouble. S. E. Stokowski (talk) 20:41, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting a re-review of my Article on Yifei He. I have modified the Article to fit the guidelines. Reputable sources have confirmed the Author's authenticity, including BePress, SSRN, and LexisNexis. Cgoppy87 (talk) 21:58, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that draft is currently waiting for review and will be reviewed when a reviewer gets round to it. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 07:32, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I wish to upload a photo of Suzan Rose Benedict from the 1922 Smith College Yearbook. My understanding is that because it was published prior to 1923 the copyright has expired. Should I upload it to Wikipedia Commons or directly to English Wikipedia? Dawbarton (talk) 23:16, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dawbarton, if it was published in the United States prior to 1923, it is no longer under copyright and should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:30, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
