The article that you have approved of mine, and the link that it points to, is not the same. Even when I try and access my historical edits, it refers to this article which does not belong to me.

Gothcatgirl (talk) 08:43, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No articles belong to you. Please see WP:OWN. After the article was accepted others chose to edit it. This discussion now belongs on the talk page of that article. Fiddle Faddle 11:45, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

{15:39:06, 17 November 2014 request for review by AmarnathManju} edit

Dear Help Desk
I am having a hard time trying to format my article and would really appreciate your help.
I need sub-categoies - Introduction - Early Life - Career - Trivia - Family - and Filmography formatted.
I have listed 10 references and numbered the article where I want them - but I don't know how to use the "Cite" feature.
I was hoping that this article would appear live by December 1st 2014 as it is about my father who would have been 100 on Dec 1st 2014.
I had created a website tribute - http://k-amarnath-movie-producer-director.com/ - for him last year and was very much hoping to have an article about him on Wikipedia.
Would really appreciate your help.
Thanking you

@AmarnathManju: To create subheadings, create a line with the title of the subheading surrounded by two equals signs, such as:

==Early Life==

==Career==

==Family==

Note that the introduction section should NOT have a subheading, as the first paragraph of an article is always assumed to be an introduction, and that Trivia sections should be avoided per WP:TRIVIA.
To create in-line references, put the references in your text, surrounding them with the <ref> and </ref> tags. They will automatically show up numbered at the bottom of the article (see WP:REFBEGIN). For example, your first line should be:

'''K. Amarnath''' (1st Dec 1914 – 14th May 1983) was an Indian film director, producer, story & script writer whose career spanned for more than 4 decades in the film industry.<ref>IMDB - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0024061/?ref_=fn_nm_nm_1</ref>

Note that you should NOT cite other Wikipedia articles as references, as they are not considered reliable sources. You should link to other Wikipedia articles using Wikilinks, and instead citesignificant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article. --Ahecht (TALK

18:12:28, 17 November 2014 review of submission by OptimisticFuture edit

Would like to find out how I check on my submission and where it is in the queue. Are there any issues with it? OptimisticFuture (talk) 18:12, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@OptimisticFuture:   Declined There is no queue; submissions are reviewed at random. I'm loathe to accept any article written ostensibly for someone running for political office. The subject doesn't meet notability criteria for politicians as she's only a candidate for minor office and the sources cited don't sell me on general notability. I chopped a lot of puffery from the draft and I'd suggest that more could be cut down so the article reads more neutrally. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:06, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

91.217.185.80 (talk) 21:06, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@91.217.185.80: what is your question? Your draft at Draft:Equality for HER has not yet been submitted for review. When you think it is ready, click on the "Submit your draft when you are ready for it to be reviewed!" button. Note that your article is not likely to be accepted without citations to significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article. Please review WP:NCORP for more info. --Ahecht (TALK

Request on 21:44:14, 17 November 2014 for assistance on AfC submission by CapricornMauricio edit

Re: Draft:Capitol I-Man

How do I cite references that are being given by the actual artist in question? Example, I am trying to create a wiki page for an artist that I know personally, and all the material I submitted came directly from him. Some of what he provided is also available on another wiki page that was made for his Hip Hop group. CapricornMauricio (talk) 21:44, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot reference any information given to you personally - only previously published sources are usable for referencing. See WP:Verifiability. You also cannot use another Wikipedia article as a reference because Wikipedia itself is not a Reliable Source. You will have to look for actual publications such as magazine articles or industry news websites that have a good reputation for reliability and neutrality - this means that the subject's own website or publicity material (such as press releases and interviews) cannot be used to establish Notability - such sources may only be used to a limited extent for uncontroversial routine information, such as a person's birthdate or correct name. Ok, thank you for your help. Would I be able to use a web magazine as a reference in the future? CapricornMauricio (talk) 08:50, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
