edit

hi sir , this is the article of famous actor personality i want to submit it and give for review thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tanu rajvani (talkcontribs) 05:43, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can submit it for review by putting {{subst:submit}} at the top of the page.
Before doing so, you should add independent reliable sources that discuss the individual in detail. Read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners to learn how to add references to sources, and Wikipedia:VRS to learn about the sort of sources that are needed. Dear Anne Delong

Thanks for your review. Could you please post the reasons for decline of the article?

I appreciate your time and efforts.

Need help,my article declined thrice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DJ Sheizwood (talkcontribs) 07:41, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:DJ Sheizwood/sandbox was declined for the reasons given at the top of that page. Click on the links in the decline reasons to learn how to create references to support the statements made about the individual, and what sort of references are suitable. In this case I would particularly suggest using reviews of the individual's releases or performances in newspapers or music magazines. You should also read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Hi

My article keeps getting rejected: I've moved the article name to the section title. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:02, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please advise exactly what I need to do to get this published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonesdam (talkcontribs) 10:26, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The submission cites this page at the NME as a source. But I can't find any mention of The Otherness at that page?
Also, references that just say "www.nme.com" or "thequietus.com" are not any use in proving the notability of the band.
A lot of the sources cited do not seem to have significant coverage of the band. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:49, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I have been waiting over three weeks for a review of this article. The yellow box at the bottom says it is pending review but I wanted to check it hasn't been forgotten. Ha0250 (talk) 14:28, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is still awaiting review. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:42, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed the links to the article draft. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:01, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - my recent submission User:Editorukbride/UKbride wasn't accepted - this is due to referencing. How do I know where to reference to? I don't know what websites would be good to act as a reference? What about wedding dress companies???

Thanks!

Editorukbride (talk) 16:44, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You reference the sources that you actually used to write it. Where did you find the information? Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:11, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dodger67 - it is a company profile, so I used the knowledge I already have of the company. I also got the info from the actual company website - can I use that as a reference? Editorukbride (talk) 13:48, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First time poster on wiki. Made some changes from first submission (didn't demonstrate why it was noteworthy and insufficient sourcing) and now the reviewer is telling me that it doesn't sound objective enough and needs more reliable sources.

My problem is that the subject is a music producer that is at the very cusp of becoming well-known, but there is an air of mystery surrounding them. Very much a behind the scenes duo. I am a fan, so when I saw nothing of note regarding the group I thought it would be fun and worthwhile to start a Wiki page. Any help would be great for a situation like this.

Also, this comment somewhat confused me re: the sources cited in the article not being independent, reliable, verifiable: saying the sources were "just...materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed." They did not create the articles in question (mostly fairly reliable music blogs/online publications), but were links to the music they had created. The "materials" in question refer to the articles and not the music created, correct?

Appreciate the help in advance.

The "reads like an advertisement" decline message is a boilerplate template, so it is more than likely that the "materials produced by the creator of the subject" part does not apply and can be ignored.
If the musical outfit are on the cusp of becoming well-known, it might be easier to wait until they do become well-known, as it will then be a lot simpler to find significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. But if you think you've provided that, then it should be OK to resubmit once the language has been made objective and neutral. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 11:49, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone that may know about the Fanny Warren back in 1975/1976 edit it or if anyone that could find this article somewhere in libraries to help me with this article? This story was about a real possession but I feel I had to write it down somewhere because its not searchable on the internet and I'm not sure about libraries but it wasn't documented because Ms.Warren was a black women and back then stories involving blacks where not interesting enough for the "white folk" masters back then. I really wanted to make this as something that is real and put up an article no one else has on wikipedia. Please don't delete it it's not an biography about her just a one time thing about being possessed.

Information on Wikipedia must be verifiable, that is, people can check it by referring to reliable sources of information. You could try going to requested articles or the reference desk to see if others can find sources for you. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:16, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If the person is still alive, it also needs to follow Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy regardless of whether it is a biography or not. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 11:43, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I tried to create an article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry-Lewis but believe I have potentially duplicated it as it's showing in the articles for creation section too. Is somebody able to help me please? I've seen that you can put tags at the top of the article for creation section to cancel it but I don't want to delete both versions of the article. Appreciate help with this.

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Barry Lewis has been deleted but Barry Lewis (cook) still exists, so all is good. Thank you for letting us know. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 11:40, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am new user OnlyUntaken WikiName and I am in the process of creating my first wikipedia article. It is a page about my own film, and as MadmanBot noted, the text is the same as on another website. However, the text from the other website was written by me. What should I do?

thanks -Andrew Gray — Preceding unsigned comment added by OnlyUntaken WikiName (talkcontribs) 21:40, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
