Creating a new article by a registered user

edit

Hi! I am a registered user and should be able to create new articles without submitting them to reviewers. But I cannot find any information about how to actually do it. Everything I have read so far refers me to the Article Wizard. I have used it before for creating a new article and it has sent my submission for a review. How can I create a new article without having to submit it for review? Thanks for your help! Tatiana GrehanTatiana.grehan (talk) 16:15, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You can either create a draft in your sandbox and move it into the main articlespace once it's ready to go live, or you can directly create pages in the main articlespace - type your new article's proposed name into the search box, and if we don't already have an article of that name, the first line of the results will be something along the lines of:
You may create the page "New article topic", but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered.
"New article topic" will be the name you searched for; you can click on the redlink to create the new page. In fact, clicking on any redlink will allow you to create the corresponding page. Huon (talk) 17:18, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

pending request for Vivienne Finch ( Poet and Translator) article

edit

I am trying to check whether anyone has progressed this request. As I am dyslexic, I find it hard to negotiate the vast fields of print on these pages, and can't find the list where my request would be. Help, please... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.127.23.81 (talk) 17:08, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You refer to this request at Wikipedia:Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Literature? That hasn't been acted on yet, and requests for others to create articles may take quite some time. In particular, it would probably help if you could add some reliable sources such as news coverage of Finch to the request so that the other editors will have something to base the new article on. My thanks. I shall do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.127.23.81 (talk) 14:27, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That was a copy of your draft. What exactly do you need help with?
The draft does not cite any reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspaper coverage or reviews in reputable trade magazines. Its tone is clearly not encyclopedic - it is a copy of their brochure, not only indeed written as an advertisement, but also a copyright violation. Huon (talk) 00:10, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
