Dear Editors,

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Behavioral Approach to Systems Theory and Control is rejected without comments by the reviewer. As far as I see, the only information left is "submission is covered by WP:NOT (AFCH)". People with whom I consulted believe that the article is suitable and we wander how it can be improved without feedback on the rejection decision.

The initiator of the Behavioral Approach to Systems Theory and Control is Prof. Jan C. Willems --- a renown scientist. There is an active community who develops the subject. We can prove its importance by scientific publications in peer reviewed journals. Please let me know if this is what is missing. How many references would be sufficient (the literature on the topic is vast)?

As someone who is connected to the topic, it is difficult for me to defend its merit for inclusion in Wikipedia. My request is to refer to a scientist who is familiar with Systems Theory and Control for independent opinion.

Thank you for your your effort in developing Wikipedia.

At a quick glance I'd say the problem is not so much that the topic is entirely unsuitable for Wikipedia but that the draft reads much more like an essay or possibly a research paper than an encyclopedia article. It also seems rather insufficiently supported by secondary sources - the first three sections don't cite any sources at all, and if I understand the fourth section correctly, its sources don't really deal with behavior. If an article on behavior is to deal with state space systems, we need sources that explicitly make that connection. Otherwise that would be considered original research, something Wikipedia is not meant to contain. So the problem is not so much the number of sources but the fact that the draft's content, the sources and the topic are rather loosely connected to each other. Common Welfare Economy

edit

Hi, I've been waiting since Dec. 8th for a response about my article proposal Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Common Welfare Economy. I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to expidite this process and about how long I will need to wait. I do realize that there is a huge backlog. Thanks, --Gushagelberg (talk) 10:18, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There's not much you can do to speed up the process, but since we had spoken earlier about that draft and the issues have been resolved I'll accept the submission in a moment. Huon (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Login bounces

edit

Hello, I recently submitted an article at: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Frank_A_Panetta&action=submit

I was logged in as username: lacountyeditor but each time arriving at the Article creation page, my login session was bounced. Could you please place my username as the editor/article writer.

Thank You in Advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.201.135 (talk) 13:13, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we can help you. We don't have a draft at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Frank A Panetta and never had one. Even if we had, I don't think it's technically possible for users or even admins to attribute one user's edits to another in a page's history. Lacountyeditor hasn't made any edits, and there are none by your IP address except this very request. So even if we could I don't see which edits should be attributed to User:Lacountyeditor.
You might want to raise the login bounce problem at the village pump; this help desk isn't meant or equipped to deal with technical problems of this kind. Huon (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand my quotation fault!! Arildnordby (talk) 14:53, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Voceditenore fixed the problem with this edit. If that wasn't what you meant, please be a little more explicit. Huon (talk) 15:31, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It was what I was asking about. Thx to all of you! Arildnordby —Preceding undated comment added 17:24, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Would it be best to seek review of an article I have written (Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Iain McKell) before submitting it? As there is a COI issue, I am an intern at the agent of the article's subject, I wanted to make sure it is neutral. Thanks. Maxcatterall (talk) 15:59, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Submitting the draft is seeking review. At a glance I didn't notice any neutrality problems, but some of the sources seem problematic: The NY Daily News article mentions McKell only in the photo credits and provides no information on him, and Salon doesn't look like a reliable source to me because there's no indication of editorial oversight. It might be better to avoid using such sources wherever possible. Huon (talk) 16:53, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
