Welcome to the TUGS task force of WikiProject Television! We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the 1988 children's television series, TUGS. When TUGS didn't surface for a second season following the first in 1989, it was clear that it wouldn't be reappearing on our screens anytime soon. So, with the invention of Wikipedia, a number of us have set up a WikiProject, which we aim to be the largest on-line resource of TUGS information on the internet.

Our project was founded by Driveus, who made a number of very significant contributions and we are thankful for all the work he made on the project. Driveus left the project in September 2008 to pursue other interests. The project has since undergone a rehaul, and we are currently in the midst of discussing article templates and how to organise character pages (see a full list of articles here).

For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProjects and Wikipedia:WikiProject best practices.

Template

edit

The following template should be used on all TUGS-related articles. To use it, simply add {{WikiProject Animation|TUGS=yes}} to the top of the talk page of the article in question.

There is another template for participating editors in the TUGS drive. For anyone who wishes to use it, simply add {{TUGS-Member}} to your userpage / talkpage. You will then be included in Category:TUGS task force participants. It can be viewed at Template:TUGS-Member.

Furthermore, there is a template which you may add to a user's talk page, if you would like to request a comment from them regarding a discussion which you have started on the project's talk page (Eg., a discussion about a page move, article deletion, etc). It is similar to the widely used {{talkback}} template.

The template can be used in one of two ways, either adding {{TUGS-RfC|Section title}}, or just simply {{TUGS-RfC}} to any user's talk page. The optional "Section title" parameter allows users to add the title of the discussion to the template, so that the link is directed straight to the appropriate section. Without it, the template will simply link to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject TUGS.

Example: {{TUGS-RfC|Debate over TUGS}} produces:

Wikipedia:WikiProject TUGS

edit

while {{TUGS-RfC}} produces:

Wikipedia:WikiProject TUGS

edit

The template can be viewed at Template:TUGS-RfC. Note: Hover mouse over "here" to see where the piped link is directed in each case. Also note that this template generates its own talk page title, it can simply be added to the bottom of a user's talk page without adding one.
