Original - The canal-side façade of the former Opekta building on the Prinsengracht canal. Anne Frank's hiding place was at the rear, in an enclosed courtyard.

Reason: Very good quality image of an important historic place. Appears in three key articles (with a total of over 300,000 views this month). Has been recognised as quality image on commons, however failed FPC on diverse grounds.

- But is the facade that important at all? I see a value in that the subject of the image is the place where Anne Frank lived (building, street, canal, trees, light), not the facade of the building alone.
