Notes edit

  • 637 - Project #6 (December 2008) is underway! TiMike (talk) 16:32, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 613 - J's are done, save for Larry Johnston (politician) for which I can't find a reference no matter which permutations I use. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:51, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 608 - X is done. TiMike (talk) 00:57, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 607 - Q is done. :P TiMike (talk) 00:59, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 584 - T is done, save for Tokollo Tshabalala as he is tied in to a murder case not currently mentioned in the article and I haven't quite decided how to deal with that. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:05, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 562 - Random entries TiMike (talk) 01:43, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 542 - Working on "D" --Plad2 (talk) 23:14, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 517 - lots of African politicians and athletes this month, i've never touched articles in this area before.--Milowenttalkblp-r 14:36, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • I left a (hopefully) helpful link for the African politicians on the talk page. At least they're short and easy to source!--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 15:05, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 496 - So far still lots of easy pickings.--Milowenttalkblp-r 17:41, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 494 Ps are done. Anything left has been prodded. Agree with Milowent above, lots of easy pickings - I haven't hit a single promotional wall of text yet. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:51, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 479 - Wow, y'all are working fast! Woosh! I'm plodding through some A's. --je deckertalk 19:02, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 455 - Picked off some more TiMike (talk) 01:59, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 431 - In 2006, Bangladesh claimed the bronze medal in the Asian Games in the sport of kabaddi, the only medal that country won in those games. Turns out that about ten of the players of that team were on this month's list, something that the primary sourcing for has disappeared off the main interwebs, but which was captured by the Internet Archive. I love it when I can source several articles with the same citation. Three cheers for the Wayback Machine! --je deckertalk 06:21, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 419 - And André Guillabert, former Sengalese politician, is the first BLP I've found where the subject is no longer living. RIP.--Milowenttalkblp-r 20:22, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 388 - Z is done. TiMike (talk) 19:55, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 382 - Y is done. TiMike (talk) 03:05, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 374 - and "D" is gone. A couple of tough ones in there - took longer than I expected.--Plad2 (talk) 08:41, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 357 - U is done. TiMike (talk) 01:58, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 348 - How often do cabinets "shuffle" in African countries?--Milowenttalkblp-r 15:15, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 332 - Finished off 'W' and 'V'. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:44, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 316 - Ugh, while 'A' is done, the last several I did involved a couple sourcings, one replacement with a redirect, two PRODs and an AfD. Either a hard letter in a hard month or I'm totally missing my sourcing magic this week! --je deckertalk 19:42, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 299 - Ugh, indeed! Working my way through "H" is a hard, unrewarding slog. Theme seems to be one one-line, out of date stubs on African, Bangladeshi and Afghani politicians (oh, and there were three Irish hurlers). Also three copyvios which needed a hard edit.--Plad2 (talk) 22:53, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The five remaining "H" articles are probably destined for PROD or AfD unless any of the "help" messages I've left with various projects comes through and rescues them. Decided to leave for a couple of days just in case and will deal with at the weekend.--Plad2 (talk) 23:23, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 298 - Those copyvios are a fuss, yes, I just finished off the remaining E with a rewrite to one that I'm still not 100% sure was a copyvio--but it sure smelled like one. --je deckertalk 23:06, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 255 - K is done, save for 3 pending deletes and one I can't find any info on: Tipu Kibriya. TiMike (talk) 02:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 243 - I grabbed the A that was tagged as a potential copyright violation (Hamid Ait Bighrade) and rewrote it with full sourcing leaving only two remaining going through deletion processes. -- Whpq (talk) 15:32, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    Thanks!!!! --je deckertalk 15:48, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 228 - O is gone. I gave it the O-face. oh oh oh TiMike (talk) 19:56, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 219 - Working "M". Skipping over several Libyan footballers for the time being. One copyvio which needed a lot of fixing and several very out of date politician stubs so far.--Plad2 (talk) 09:30, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 217. Little by little.--Milowenttalkblp-r 12:14, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 200 - Step by step through the Killer Bs. --je deckertalk 20:30, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 179 - Other than a PROD, only Bobby Borg remains in the B's, but I just can't face it tonight. --je deckertalk 06:25, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 148 - Getting down to the dregs of "M" now.--Plad2 (talk) 22:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 139 - I "C" only two entries left in that letter, one CV'd, the other in AfD. Woosh! --je deckertalk 07:04, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 126 - Plodding away, I found an actual BLP issue today, unless there's a source for "He also had the biggest infant in his pants ever..." As I was unable to discover such a source, however...  ;-) --je deckertalk 22:43, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 122 - "F" done save for a PROD and an AfD, also PROD'd the last K after searching myself. --je deckertalk 00:27, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 95 - I've only managed a few of the last 30-some that got done, we're getting close! --je deckertalk 06:33, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 80 - down to 80! Can't avoid those leftover footballers now!--Milowenttalkblp-r 21:28, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 66 - In the homestretch! TiMike (talk) 03:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 62 - and Silvio Michelotto has to be a hoax.--Milowenttalkblp-r 05:39, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 57 - who will be the last African minister standing?--Milowenttalkblp-r 14:04, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 54 - just waiting to get to the point where someone tells us the number not already prodded, AfDed, etc. is minimal...--Milowenttalkblp-r 16:24, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 48 - Mahmoud El Sayed Samir and Mahmoud Samir confused the heck out of me until I figured out that they were two different active Egyptian footballers with the same name that hadn't had a clear disambiguation done between them. I moved one to Mahmoud Samir (footballer) and converted the main name to a DAB page. But it sure did take me a while to get it all figured out. -- Whpq (talk) 19:28, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 37 - down to 37, thanks to the busy referencers!--Milowenttalkblp-r 23:02, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 24 - Second article subject I've run into this month who has died, which is really unusual in my experience. RIP, Francisco da Silva. --je deckertalk 03:13, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 23 - Shaikh Siraj turned out to be Shykh Seraj, two articles under alternate spellings about the same person!--Milowenttalkblp-r 04:59, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 20 - R is complete -- Whpq (talk) 15:57, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Take away the 11 on deletion row, and you are really into single figures! The-Pope (talk) 16:34, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 18 - And I hadn't realized that "Samurai Blue" was the nickname for the Japanese national football team, the samuraiblue page appears to be a publication of the JFA. I think that excluding deletion discussions and a copyright notice there are seven left in this pile. --je deckertalk 17:06, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • 14 - AND, everything left is in a deletion process, so this is a job very well done! -- 637 articles done in 18 days (35.38 per day).--Milowenttalkblp-r 20:59, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
