Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2024 September 12

Contains zero transclusions. Any page on Wikipedia can be the subject of an external link; that is how websites work. Here is the external link for this one: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:R_from_external_link".

This rcat was previously used for redirects who's ONLY justification for existing was being otherwise completely unlikely titles, but still generate incoming traffic due to people clicking erroneous URLs. However, all redirects on Wikipedia must abide by policy regardless, and every redirect in this category (all four of them) have been deleted for months.

This is not a useful rcat at this time. The title of "external link" doesn't provide sufficient context towards its prospective members (especially so given the members are nonexistent), and its existence and usecases in 2024 are confusing for anyone unfamiliar with the circumstances for this page's creation in 2018, and the Genie (feral child RfD where an external link existed.
