Propose merging Template:Interwiki copy with Template:Translated page.
Pretty much redundant copies of each other. Sure, there is the distinction that {{Interwiki copy}} also encompasses copying from Wikiversity, Wikisource, etc., but in practice, looking at a random page in Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Interwiki copy reveals that most uses of this template could have just as easily been done with Template:Translated page (examples: [1],[2],[3],[4]). I propose deleting {{Translated page}} and replacing it with {{Interwiki copy}} since {{Translated page}} is the same template with a slightly narrower scope. —Matrix(!) • Comment Deleting is unnecessary. Redirection of one to the other (and making the other accept any additional parameters needed) is all that would be needed, and would save having to update all the existing transclusions. Anomie 19:32, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep for specificity's sake, as I think Template:Translated page is far more clear when used for its intended purpose. Translated pages are also so common that it would seem odd to me not to have a template specifically dedicated to them. That said, if consensus is reached to merge, I support redirecting rather than deleting, per Anomie. Noahfgodard (talk) 21:19, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: Translated page should be kept in view of its importance for copyright within Wikipedia. The Interwiki template is designed to cover items copied from other Wikimedia projects.--Ipigott (talk) 07:32, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: They serve slightly different purposes: "incorporates content from" is not the same as "contains a translation of" (or "to contain a partial translation of"). Also, for what it's worth, I use {{Translated}} (without the "page"), which works fine too. --Cl3phact0 (talk) 18:13, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Hi, why not translate this template, which is more practical than those banners? It is a generated text in which we add the original Wikipedia article language and title, and we place it below the references. Then we will have a text like this:
  • This article is partially or entirely derived from the English Wikipedia article titled "History of rail transport in Algeria" (see the list of authors). Riad Salih (talk) 22:59, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I see no reason for this as they have different functions and are essentially non-related, at the core. So no, no change. scope_creepTalk 23:30, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Ipigott. Occidental𓍝Phantasmagoria [ User ] [ Talk ] [ Contributions ] 00:00, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I think it may be snowing, it has been established above that these 2 templates serve different functions. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:15, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
