  • Delete. A template should never redirect to a module. The code of WPBannerMeta has served its purpose and as code tends to do, it got replaced with newer and better code.   • Kind of tend toward a redirect to Module:WikiProject banner/doc. I agree with the position that it is inappropriate to redirect a template namespace page to a module namespace page given the expectation involved with interacting with each in wikitext. I'm thinking beyond my usual delete here for two reasons, one is the complexity and edit history here, the other is that it's been used for a long time and people will accordingly want to know where it went, and we can save them a redirection.   • Izno's idea redirect idea works for me. I agree with Gonnym's idea ("translated" a bit) that a template's code page should not redirect to a module's code page (being very different kinds of pages), but this is a way around that concern, and also addresses Headbomb's keep-the-history concern.  — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼  04:56, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    Look at {{cite doi}} for inspiration for the warning. E.g. Attention: This template ({{cite doi}}) is deprecated. To cite the publication identified by doi:10.5555/example, please use {{cite journal}} (if it was published in a bona fide academic journal, otherwise {{cite report}} with |doi=10.5555/example instead.
