This new template appears to be being added to the talk pages of articles about far-right subjects, directing people to WP:NONAZIS. While I'm sure few of us disagree with the principle of WP:NONAZIS, the issue is that it's a user essay, not an official policy. It's therefore not appropriate for users on high-profile articles to be directed to it as if it were policy. — Czello (music) 20:04, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Like WP:NONAZIS, WP:BRD is an essay, not official policy, but there is general consensus in its favor, and not following it is often viewed as disruptive. In addition, there is precedent for users being blocked for editing articles with a pro-Nazi slant (example). CJ-Moki (talk) 21:55, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - it's really not necessary to have a talk page banner pointing to the NONAZIS essay. Reminds me of that "stay calm" banner--these sorts of notices don't work. The negative is that it adds to banner blindness, particularly where Nazi-related pages already have a lot of banners (ctop notices and whatnot). I don't see a positive. Delete - this seems to be more of an editor’s essay/comments, which are not necessary. If an editor pushes a certain point of view, they are dealt with under official policy-current rules and also guidelines. I agree with Czello and Levivich, “well intended but counterproductive”.
