{{The Fellowship of the Ring/Plot summary}}'s sole use is to store article text, namely the plot summary for The Fellowship of the Ring, for the purposes of transcluding onto the main FOTR and LOTR pages (in direct contravention to WP:TG). The template's task doesn't need a template; a labeled section transclusion from the FOTR article to elsewhere will also do the same thing without one. I thus propose to substitute the template back onto The Fellowship of the Ring, delete this template, and carry out the desired transclusion as a labeled transclusion. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi!   • Keep - the templates prevent the summaries from diverging. If we substitute and delete, people will certainly continually edit the texts in the main LOTR and the three individual volumes-of-LOTR articles, and they will then certainly diverge, to no purpose.     On second thoughts, these have substantial edit histories, especially the first one. The history needs to be kept for attribution purposes. So either archive at talk sub-pages, or else mark as historical with {{historical}}. SpinningSpark 15:31, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    I'm not actively opposed to redirecting, but I will note that most of the original edit history of this text lives at their respective articles before it was copy+pasted into this template.
