No transclusions, documentation, or incoming links. The more comprehensive {{Mumbai City FC}} is used instead. – Jonesey95 (talk) 06:06, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Mumbai City FC has an inline version. Personally I'm not a fan of these. A navbox is a better approach, especially since only a small minority of readers are going to be interest in 2nd team/youth stuff. Nigej (talk) 07:54, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No transclusions. Links to Southern Melbourne Saints, which does not contain the string "puma" and which already has a team template shortcut at {{NBL SKS}}. – Jonesey95 (talk) 06:17, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Surely this system of creating umpteen 1-line templates needs to be changed. Based it seems around {{NBLMatchSummaryLine2}}. Nigej (talk) 08:06, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: not that I understand why sports teams need a template to handle linking unlike everything else on the wiki, but if we really, really need a system like this, then we can use something like {{NBL team}} (as the name, not the infobox it currently redirects to) to at least reduce it to one template. Gonnym (talk) 18:48, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, there's no need at all. Just use the team name. If a team changes it's name we can handle that with a redirect, all this stuff is completely pointless. Nigej (talk) 20:27, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up to comments made at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2022 January 31#Template:Electorates of New Zealand, 2020–2026. The problem with them is that are only used at parent articles like 2005 New Zealand general election which already contain the complete list in the article. They never appear in the child articles like Auckland Central. So overall they don't have any navigational benefit. Nigej (talk) 08:19, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objection to deletion, but would these serve a worthwhile purpose if they were transcluded into each respective electorate article? — HTGS (talk) 19:15, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The trouble is that we'd end up with more and more navboxes in each article. Nigej (talk) 20:30, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom. The usage of these navigation template is not to reproduce content but to offer navigation between related articles. Template:Electorates of New Zealand and Template:Historical electorates of New Zealand do that. There is no need for the creation of these each N years. My proposal was initially to split the two timeline "DSLR" and "MILC" to avoid one enormous timeline, like i said here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Canon_EOS_digital_cameras#Split_Timeline_DSLR_and_MILC Gribouilleuse42 (talk) 11:39, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I see that at eg Ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's team rosters#Canada we're using named sections and then at Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics#Ice hockey we can use {{#section:Ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's team rosters|CAN}} to get the content there. Seems a much better approach than the misnamed "convenience templates". I have converted the templates at Netball at the 2006 Commonwealth Games to this style and those listed are now unused. I know this is a drop in the ocean compared to the thousands of these we have but it seems to me that, as a minimum we ought to be putting an end to future creations of these "convenience templates"'. Comments would be appreciated, especially links to earlier discussions. Nigej (talk) 12:09, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Having created similar templates for the 2022 Games (as you know) I felt they were a useful tool, not knowing about the use of named sections at the time. Now, I agree your approach is more efficient and the above templates are no longer needed. Edvid (talk) 15:17, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I was the one who created all of the above templates back in 2012 when this was this way be displayed this content across several pages. With the section links now used these can be deleted. – Ianblair23 (talk) 06:05, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The edit summary at creation says "created to catch potential errors", but it is not needed. Wikipedia:Database reports/Transclusions of non-existent templates will show transclusions of this template name, and it is checked and cleaned out multiple times per week by gnomes. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:56, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All of these templates are remnants of the pre-Lua version of Template:coord. They are no longer transcluded except in a couple of sandboxes and talk page archives. Some of them existed only to generate error messages. They can all be deleted. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:00, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No transclusions, documentation, or incoming links. Appears to duplicate, or be an unused fork of, {{Oslo Metro next}}. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:09, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per nom. Even {{Oslo Metro next}} seems like a likely candidate to to be replaced with {{Adjacent stations}} Gonnym (talk) 07:53, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A number of related sidebar in Category:Malaysia political leader sidebar templates. The problem is that most are only used in one article (1 in none, 2 in two) so fail an important aspect of a WP:SIDEBAR. If there's really a "series" of articles the sidebar would appear in many articles. The reality is that these are designed for use in one article with a long list of other articles that the person is noted in. not "a grouping of links used in multiple related articles". Nigej (talk) 21:08, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try and see if the sidebars can be used. Generally, these political figures are intertwined in the same political events so it's a little problematic when you have to add 2-3 sidebars in the same article, for instance. PenangLion (talk) 07:03, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nomination. A majority of links are related in passing and feels very SYNTH and OR-ish. And none of the individuals have their own categories which adds a level of making these sidebars unnecessary to have. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 20:08, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
