OK to delete. When I created the template I was also ready to create two other pages related to the series, but unexpected things came up and the time and focus I'd planned had to take a backseat. Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 03:43, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is an external link template that has been useless for quite some time since the website it was linking to is dead. Now it doesn't even create a link anymore, just an unhelpful and incomplete reference to an inaccessible source. bender235 (talk) 15:05, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Is a dead link. Illustrates why these templates to simplify some external links are useful though; we can address this issue in one fell swoop. --Tom (LT) (talk) 08:22, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:46, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, I updated it to use web.archive.org links. Tom (LT) and bender235, is that better or should it still be deleted? It looks like it's being used as a citation in many cases. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:43, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I thought about fixing it with the Wayback Machine, too, but I didn't think it would be working with a flexible URL (given that the template allows for individual chapters to be referred to). Does it? --bender235 (talk) 20:12, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Plastikspork thanks for that, does it work at your end? When I click the links I can't actually access the websites via Wayback machine at the moment though. I'm definitely bordering on 'keep' if this is the case.--Tom (LT) (talk) 05:59, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Tom (LT) and bender235, it's likely that didn't fix all of them, but it did work for the ones that I tried. In my experience, wayback machine will auto-correct archive dates if they aren't exactly right (using a neighboring date). The best thing to do is probably just substitute/delete, and then correct the wayback links if they aren't working. What do you think? Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:20, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's probably the best solution for now, but in the medium and long run we should probably try to phase out this template. --bender235 (talk) 16:24, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • substitute and delete, there shouldn't be any new uses and we can easily check and fix any existing ones after this is substituted. just make sure to keep a list of all the places where it is substituted, and I will check them. Frietjes (talk) 18:32, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fork of Module:Mapframe that is no longer needed. The bug mentioned in the doc has been resolved, plus Module:Mapframe does not set frame latitude/longitude when they can be derived from line or shape features. Evad37 [talk] 13:12, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom.--Tom (LT) (talk) 06:06, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have no objection against deletion but my requirement is that someone forwards/links/transcludes (or whatever the correct word is) Template:MapframeForObjects to Template:Maplink so that no map gets broken or mass edits pages where Template:MapframeForObjects is used to replace it with Template:Maplink. Froward via the Template:MapframeForObjects may be simpler solution for now - but I do not know how to do it.--Kozuch (talk) 16:22, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Kozuch: Yes, we don't want anything to break; fortunately it will be simple for the closer to do in this case. {{MapframeForObjects}} uses exactly the same parameters as {{Maplink}}, so it can either be made into a template redirect, or each transclusion (there's only 55) can have the template name "MapframeForObjects" replaced with "Maplink". - Evad37 [talk] 01:07, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
