Meaningless substituted templates, not sure what's the usage and proposal Hhkohh (talk) 06:01, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom and prior consensus, unnecessary/unuseful, just wikilinks in a template. S.A. Julio (talk) 15:17, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep They are useful as typing-aids and any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot, same as Template:Nfa etc. --SuperJew (talk) 17:31, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • SuperJew Unlike {{nfa}}, {{nfa}} stands many by changing options while these templates only stands one. If you find these useful, I hope you can merge these into one template and set many options, see also May 25 TfD which is also open now, thanks! Hhkohh (talk) 09:28, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Hhkohh: So maybe the solution is to merge, not delete. (but I'm not sure I have the technical know-how to make a one template with many options). --SuperJew (talk) 13:20, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Not particularly useful. Umarghdunno (talk) 10:51, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Umarghdunno: Have you used them that you say they're not particularly useful? As a main contributer to the Y-League season pages I can let you know that they are very useful, especially when copying as that requires changing 2-3 characters instead of let's say 60. --SuperJew (talk) 16:07, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SuperJew: I don't do anywhere near as much editing relating to clubs as you but when I do I find copy and paste works fine. Umarghdunno (talk) 07:26, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
+1. That is the reason why I said these templates are meaningless. Hhkohh (talk) 09:41, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Umarghdunno: I prefer changing 2-3 characters instead of about 60. The real question is why does anyone care they do exist? They don't hurt apart from minor (bytes) of storage and they do help editors. --SuperJew (talk) 05:21, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@GiantSnowman: as a regular editor on Aussie soccer pages, I find them useful and helpful. --SuperJew (talk) 08:11, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
