Propose merging Template:Demonstration sports at the Olympics with Template:Sports at the Olympics.
Most of the demonstration sports are already on the template Sports at the Olympics. If not Past sports and Unofficial sports also should get an own template Sander.v.Ginkel (Talk) 21:42, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Challenge Cup squad templates edit

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was delete all. There is consensus that non-major tournaments should not have squad navboxes. (non-admin closure) BethNaught (talk) 07:23, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Squad templates should only be created for major tournaments. The AFC Challenge Cup is not a major tournament. Joeykai (talk) 00:46, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - No harm in it, and if we start distinguishing what tournaments are "major" or not then we will have a bunch of editors arguing over what makes a football tournament significant. Inter&anthro (talk) 13:48, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Inter&anthro: Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2015 July 15#Caribbean Cup Templates and Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2015 September 20#Caribbean Cup templates show a consensus for not creating squad navigational boxes for minor tournaments. It is also consensus that a major tournament is at least a top level continental competition. Joeykai (talk) 14:01, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all - Per the precedents cited by Joeykai, squads participating at tournaments below the confederation level do not rate their own squad navboxes. I know WP:NENAN is "just an essay," but it certainly fits. — Jkudlick tcs 16:26, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all - minor tournaments don't warrant squad templates, the consensus is clear and long-standing. GiantSnowman 17:23, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all per GiantSnowman's rationale. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 10:10, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
