Propose merging Template:Infobox California wildfires with Template:Infobox wildfire.

Oppose these serve two very different purposes. Using the {{Infobox wildfire}} for the seasonal page has left people to fill in a long list of the causes, the multiple motives and perpetrators. - They could easily be merged together, with a few parameters that change depending on whether or not "season=yes" is added. I don't see why it has to be two templates, especially for only a single state (WA has wildfire seasons too, but uses {{Infobox wildfire}}). Sounder Bruce 14:13, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support - @Pigsonthewing: thanks for pointing me to that. Still learning here. I change my vote and am working on merging the two templates right now in my user space. It is going to require a lot of trial and error with Parser Functions so figured I'd mess around in my sandbox for a bit. Merge - but in the new merged template it would be helpful to a reader to know the state in which the wildfire occurred. Is there a category one can search if they wanted to find just wildfires in CA?

The wildfire infobox already has a location parameter, which WA's seasons fills with "northern and eastern Washington". California has a category of their annual seasons and I've made a similar one for WA. Sounder Bruce 15:08, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
