At Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2015-04-22/Special report there was a discussion that Sony, a large corporation, might have violated Wikipedia's terms of use as described at wmf:Terms_of_Use#4._Refraining_from_Certain_Activities, "Paid contributions without disclosure", and also Wikipedia's local policy on Wikipedia:Sock puppetry. The troublesome action alleged was the hiring of editors to post promotional content on behalf of the company while posing those contractors as typical volunteers. The standard consequence for sockpuppetry is the WP:BAN of the entity which operates the puppets. In this case that might be Sony, if it is true that Sony has hired contractors with intent to have them violate the terms of service.
