Issues to be mediated edit

Primary issues (added by the filing party)
  1. 1.What is a groat? There is a lack of an explicit definition of the word
  2. 2.My apologies for the reintroduction of this issue; I was unfamiliar with the format of this request form; I now included Matt Lunker talk page where we had "extensive discussion of the matter"; I placed it on his page because he was the one who took exception to my contribution. Please note, that I made three "good-faith attempts" to tailor the definition to accommodate his concerns, and every time an adverse determination was made, the article was reverted back to the previous version. Also, the head of your mediation committee is "out of the office", so I could not appeal the matter to him.

Decision of the Mediation Committee edit

  • Reject. Fails prerequisite to mediation #4, "The parties must have first engaged in extensive discussion of the matter in dispute at the article talk page and discussion only through edit summaries will not suffice." Extensive discussion requires multiple back-and-forth efforts by both parties to attempt to work out the dispute through discussion; edits and edit summaries are not considered in making that determination. Even if this were not rejected under prerequisite #4, however, I would have rejected it under prerequisite #9 which gives the Chairperson — and I'm not out of the office quite yet, though I will be out beginning very soon today — the discretion to "refuse or refer back to other dispute resolution venues (e.g. dispute resolution noticeboard, third opinion, request for comment, or additional talk page discussion) a dispute which would benefit from additional work at lower levels of the dispute resolution process."
