Please update the picture on wili loves folklore of little girl sitting, goddess, natives all included in one picture.. .. I felt pic is biased and points certain communities.. conveys very different message.. thanks 2405:201:500F:4015:1027:AA6D:F2EC:6829 (talk) 16:49, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you talking about Wiki Loves Folklore? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:14, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it is about the banner ad.  .

Most of these are from Commons:Commons:Wiki_Loves_Folklore_2021/Winners but also Commons:Commons:Wiki_Loves_Folklore_2020/Winners. You could ask user:Tiven2240 (Tiven Gonsalves) about the choice for the banner. Winners appear to be colourful or dramatic. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:22, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Folklore is the product of communities, so of course images depicting folklore point to certain communities. Those represented in the banner are, left to right, Philippine (Catholic), Hindu, unidentified (Maori?), Philippine (Catholic), Japanese, Miao, Mongolian. Clearly, Philippine Catholic culture is overrepresented, while German culture is not even represented at all. This conveys indeed a very different message than many other messages.  --Lambiam 09:00, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
