why did you change it. don't do that. it's shit now. it was fine. you made it bad. fix it. what the hell. cmon. 60.240.75.37 (talk) 00:57, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To me it looks the same as always. What, specifically, are you talking about? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots02:04, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have acquired a new view. Nothing seems better about. I have struggled to find features I used regularly. But I'm sure some gurus at Wikipedia know what's best for me. HiLo48 (talk) 02:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Vector 2022. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 02:43, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aha! I've got mine set to Monobook. Does an IP have the ability to set it, or do they only get the default? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:22, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, not without adding some sort of programming cludge depending on one's search engine (usually Firefox in my case). We can toggle from the new 'auto-scrolling' contents left-hand column to the old list of links and functions, but it doesn't (mostly) stick and has to be redone on each new page. It's not available on the editing window, which has no l-h column, so is now ridiculously wide. I suppose I'll eventually get used to the new look (which is horrible on a PC screen) – just give me a couple of years. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 51.194.245.235 (talk) 08:49, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So it would seem that the only currently available "fix" is to create an account and set the "settings" as desired. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots15:20, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It may be a ploy to coax IPs into "voluntarily" registering.  --Lambiam 17:27, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Along with a nonstop, full page demand to donate. No matter how many times you close it, it comes back and takes up the whole screen. 12.116.29.106 (talk) 18:33, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've set my preferences back to Vector Legacy. The update had way too much whitespace and the sidebar TOC was rather glitchy and hard to use.--User:Khajidha (talk) (contributions) 17:05, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For me, the rendering of the Table of Contents has been erratic. Sometimes it's rendered in full, other times only the top level and I had to click through to see threads, so I've switched back to the old skin in my preferences. I'm using Firefox on a desktop and perhaps there is some issues with it. I might try the new skin again in a few weeks though. Modocc (talk) 03:36, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia_talk:Vector_2022 is the place to complain. (And the RfC is the place to vote.)  Card Zero  (talk) 11:11, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It’s different for me as well. You’re right, it does look awful, and navigating it is proving to be one hell of a challenge. Hmm1994 (talk) 07:37, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your donation dollars at work. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots17:56, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They're trying to compell me to become a donor? Hmm1994 (talk) 20:36, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If they are, it might not be working. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots23:10, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If Vector_2010 was perfect, and Vector_2022 has ruined it, the solution is simple: wait till Vector_2034 comes out, and then the outraged feedback will prove that Vector_2022 had been perfect all along... -- Verbarson  talkedits 22:04, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Or just set your setting to Monobook or whatever, and don't worry about it. Unless they take away your ability to set it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots23:37, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hell, yeah! Changing it back to the Vector legacy (2010) appearance did the trick. Thanks! For the slightest minute there, they had me worried. That 2022 layout... I mean, hell, I thought I'd have to ditch the site altogether because being stuck editing with such a shit interface for the rest of my life may as well be a fate worse than death. So, uh, yeah.
