East bay area CA, outdoor covid booster?

edit

I got a booster shot at a local hospital and was somewhat disturbed at having to be in a room full of people indoors (= super spreader event) waiting for the shot and then a 15-minute post-shot "observation period" (I skipped out early). Luckily I didn't get infected, but that was at the start of the Omicron emergence which is in full swing now.

Now I have to help a family member get a shot, and am wondering: is there any place that does it outdoors? Anywhere in the Oakland to Concord area, or San Francisco, would be fine. The person lives in Contra Costa County if that matters. Thanks. 2602:24A:DE47:B8E0:1B43:29FD:A863:33CA (talk) 02:07, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard of drive-through and curbside vaccines, I'd try searching for those. Check https://www.vaccines.gov/. ––FormalDude talk 09:11, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like California also offers in-home visits for vaccines (including the COVID-19 booster) at https://myturn.ca.gov/?config=c88a6dcd-db6c-43cf-bbef-96b5085248a7 ––FormalDude talk 09:14, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! The guy this vaccine is for doesn't have trouble getting out of the house, but he is in a retirement community with a lot of very elderly people who probably would have an easier time getting the vax at home. I'll check into that. Drive-through would also work for him. 2602:24A:DE47:B8E0:1B43:29FD:A863:33CA (talk) 00:04, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

TV Advert which predicted Soviet Collapse

edit

Dear Reference Desk,

I seem to recall there was an advert, perhaps for a UK investment bank/fund, which discussed how their staff had better out-of-the-box thinking than their rivals and so invested your money better. It jokingly included a prediction that the Soviet Union would collapse mere weeks before this did in fact happen. I've done some searching but cannot find the ad. Have I imagined it? 2A00:23C8:B0A:A900:9169:D613:CB7C:46BD (talk) 16:50, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Found it myself after further hours of pain. The ads are:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7S-sOvGHPU and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxH06HrQxoE 2A00:23C8:B0A:A900:F8DF:E160:6B60:7391 (talk) 20:33, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So it didn't predict that the USSR would collapse; rather, that they would want to do business with the, ah, free world. --184.144.97.125 (talk) 21:24, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For context, see the Lada Riva, GAZ-24 and the Moskvitch 2140, the pinnacle of Soviet automotive acheivement at that time. Alansplodge (talk) 13:43, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
