November 28 edit

I have a follow up question regarding mail express services in Auckland edit

I found out my friend lives in North Shore, New Zealand. Is there any mail express services in that area? She is trying to send something to me. 75.156.90.81 (talk) 06:17, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Since that is in Auckland, pretty much any courier operating in New Zealand should be available. They should be able to ship or fly to BC. Air New Zealand flies this route, so air freight should be relatively simple. If money is no problem I can recommend a company that can shift difficult-to-move items from Pacific Islands. (eg a piano) But I will not advertise here. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:14, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Your friend seems to be unsure of what to do. Why not ask her to go to any branch of NZ Post and discuss shipping with the staff. Tell her to take the item together with the intended packaging, as its weight and dimensions will need to be measured before the staff can calculate the charges. She will need to fill in a form declaring the contents and their value. If she does not know where her nearest NZ Post agency is, tell us what suburb she lives in and I'll post it here. Next up read Hair washing and Hair care. Use a Shower cap if you want to keep hair dry in a shower! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:46, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not saying, just referring you to our articles to read. It is an opinion you are asking for and we don't give opinions. You may as well ask your mother. Buy some or look in our bathroom and try it and see if you like the result. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:00, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

reason I ask is because Im worried if its bad to shampoo your hair every day?

Naomi Osaka edit

Happy Wednesday, friends. I am emailing in regards to the Wiki on Naomi Osaka. I made an edit to the first part or paragraph where it states "Naomi Osaka (大坂 なおみ Ōsaka Naomi, born October 16, 1997) is a professional tennis player who represents Japan. What I have done is added more information as pertaining to her nationality, of which she is proud of. Hence, the changes would appear as this: "Naomi Osaka (大坂 なおみ Ōsaka Naomi, born October 16, 1997) is a Haitian - Japanese professional tennis player who represents Japan. I think it is representative of what our common society is all about, inclusiveness in all degrees. And showing the young generation that we are all citizens of the world and diversity is something amazing and worth recognizing. That it does not matter where one is from and all that matters is love, acceptance, and respect for humanity. When kids that look up to her see what heritage she represents, it helps them in their own lives know that we can love across all "human made" borders. So, my request is that this edit be allowed. Kind regards and have a wonderful day.

Hey there! While later in the article, where it is expected more detail is to be provided about a person's ethnic, cultural, or family background, such information is probably fine. However, the lead section of an article is a much shorter synopsis, and over time we've come upon some conventions for what to include in the lead section of a biography, and the lead sentence is usually pretty conventional. As noted at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography#Context, we generally use citizenship/residency in the opening sentence when describing a person. Mentioning ethnicity or family background is usually mentioned later in the article only. I hope that helps! --Jayron32 17:48, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There was an WP:RFC on this subject here, which resulted in a consensus for the current text. IffyChat -- 18:36, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
