- (Un-indent) How is it even possible to know for sure, given that many IP users (myself included) ask their questions under several different IP addresses? (I've asked and answered questions under at least 4 different IPs that I remember, and maybe more than that.) 24.23.196.85 (talk) 04:42, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- So I'm curious. Why don't you register? It gives you greater anonymity than using an IP address, even a frequently changing one. For example, with no more than two mouse clicks I can tell you're probably from San Jose. Imagine what a few more clicks could achieve! - I haven't been here long, but I ask a lot of questions. Generally, I try to answer a question every time I ask one, but I don't keep track, or really care. Personally, I view it like a big ongoing conversation; if I'm curious about something and can't figure it out, I ask, and if I see something asked that I know, I answer it. - Who said that? Because I don't think it's true. Most of your questions are exactly the sort of thing this desk is here to answer. - To be fair, Onorem's concern here is a valid one, and he is frustrated with me because I do close health and legal questions and some debate-inviting opinion questions (of the "why are Jews so evil" or "Why are gays so gay?" type), so he is annoyed that I am answering you. The easy way to address this is to try to make your questions as fact-oriented as possible. Instead of "what is a good name for a restaurant" (which seems like a request for opinion) you can ask "what are the names of the 10 fanciest Italian restaurants in Manhattan by cost and customer ratings?

- This is the inter-language link for the Ref Desk. I don't read spanish well, so I dont know if it is the same as the english ref desk. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Consultas. Quantity does not equal quality. Being able to get one good answer in a native language might be better than a 100 mediocore answers here. RudolfRed (talk) 01:19, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- The Spanish page is a single combined reference and help desk, almost entirely focusing on help. It currently has two references questions, saying "I want to know about Beethoven" and "I want to know about Honduras", the answers to which are, see our article on Beethoven, and see our article on Honduras. - I have a vague recollection of asking a question on their ref/help desk some years back, and as I recall I got a useful answer. - I have not seen any place like this when measuring the effectiveness of the answers u can get… and I have done questions in a lot of places
- And please, let me ask one question, what is this troll thing? I know it’s a bad thing but I’m tired of reed it in formula one forums as an offence, but I don’t completely get it (and the definition in the dictionary I have, tell me nothing)

It is basically someone who pretends to be serious about asking a question, but who is really trying to manipulate people or get them to waste their time, get into arguments, and so forth. I want to add myself to the list of people who think Miss Bono asks very good questions. I look forward to them because they make me think.
