What is the "Baron de Coubertin"?

edit

Both Pierre de Coubertin and Charles Louis de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin were known as the "Baron de Coubertin", but what is the significance of that title? Was there a House of Coubertin or a place called Coubertin? Is it related to the town of Copertino? Qzekrom (she/her • talk) 19:10, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article in the French wikipedia says that the château de Coubertin is in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse.

(edit conflict)The French article, fr:Charles-Louis de Frédy de Coubertin, says that an ancestor in 1577 bought the lordship of Coubertin, now located at the Coubertin estate and castle in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse. Alansplodge (talk) 20:40, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
