20th century

edit

I asked a question on 7 may about if there are any conditions or not for how in culture and entertainment certain film stars/ filmmakers and music artists are applied? I was told to ask at 20th century talk page and I did but I don't think it was noticed I could be wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:7406:8B00:3D:8607:8337:78AA (talk) 08:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are you talking about this?[1] Maybe the question is unclear. What do you mean by "applied"? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 08:22, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Applied to the sections of course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.151.91.52 (talk) 08:24, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The original question at the RD was here. It was interpreted by one respondent as being about the criteria for inclusion in 20th century#Culture and entertainment. Rather in general, if you want to include (for example) Joe Q. Shmoe in a list of people characterized as (for example) "the world's most popular or important artists" (in some field), you should be able to find some reliable sources that describe Joe Q. Shmoe as being such. If we have no article on Joe Q. Shmoe, they almost certainly won't qualify. The first section on the talk page, with the heading "Music section", contains an inconclusive discussion on the criteria for inclusion in the list of influential musical artists in the article.
