Celebrity security - how many dangerous stalkers, average?

My understanding of Celebrity security is that one of the main threats, and perhaps the most serious (it has led to celebrities and others being murdered) is is infatuated and mentally ill stalkers. John Lennon is perhaps one of the most high-profile victims.

My question is, often the stalker will have attempted to contact the celebrity, often persistently, and the nature of their communications make the celebrity's security team say "this person could be a real threat". (Of course, pretty much any celebrity gets no shortage of fan mail, but most of this is normal, and raises no alarms). A former bodyguard for Serena Williams told me that he had a handful of faces burned into his memory "keep a lookout for this person, they may be dangerous". He claimed in Serena's case, there were only a handful, but he had to be on constant alert, as they would potentially chase her across the globe and turn up at a tournament anywhere. Remember, such people may be morbidly infatuated or obsessed.

My question is, have any other celebrities commented on how seriously this issue has affected their lives? And how many people are on that particular celebrity's security team's "DANGER" list? Eliyohub (talk) 15:28, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

I think a lot more celebs get killed by people they know. For example, we have Phil Hartman, killed by his wife, Marvin Gaye, killed by his father, Selena, killed by an associate of hers, etc. StuRat (talk) 03:51, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

My question, which no one has yet answered is, have any celebrities themselves commented in media interviews about the extent of the threat they face of this sort, and how many individuals are on their security team's "dangerous" list? Eliyohub (talk) 13:03, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

Just a note, I don't know if you'll find much on this topic from the celebs themselves as A) it's a sore subject for the celebs and B) commenting about them would give them attention that they, the stalkers, may crave. That said, David Letterman would occasionally joke about being stalked by Margaret Mary Ray. †dismas†|^(talk) 04:24, 26 December 2016 (UTC)

HBO commercial

Not long ago I saw an HBO commercial in cinema with the song containing the phrase "Let's give them show". The commercial featured some of HBO's TV series (Game of Thrones, World War II soldiers, etc). I found neither the song nor the commercial. Any ideas? Brandmeister^talk 15:29, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
