Need Download Link for Itanium Internet Explorer 9 edit

Hi,

I am running Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-Based Systems. It currently has Internet Explorer 7 installed. I cannot find a download link for the latest version available. I read here that Internet Explorer 9 is available for my version of Windows server so I would like to download that. I tried installing the 32-bit versions of Firefox and Chrome, but Firefox says it requires SSE2 extensions. Chrome installs, but it won't load Web sites.

Thanks,

You would get a better answer on some Microsoft support forum, probably. Ruslik_Zero 18:36, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Or try using Windows Update.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the first link only gives me download links for the 32 and 64-bit x86 versions. Neither of those install. I installed all the updates, but Internet Explorer 9 was not in the list. I also called Microsoft, but they didn't know and started passing me around to various departments. I'm starting to wonder if there really is an IE 9 for the Itanium version of Windows. I installed Firefox 3.6 as a workaround. At least most of the Web sites out there load on that.—Best Dog Ever (talk) 21:34, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
According to your linked MS FAQ there is a link to "Connect with Answer Desk for expert help". — 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:E465:CA4F:4607:5398 (talk) 01:43, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I tried that, too. They gave me the 800 number I called. It's not that big of a deal. The version of Windows for Itanium is so crippled that I think I'll just stop using it. It's really slow, too. I experimented with Windows, Linux, HP-UX, and OpenVMS on the server. I think Linux works the best on that server so I may just stick with that.—Best Dog Ever (talk) 03:32, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
