Hurricane Isabel

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument on NASA's Terra satellite captured this true-color image of Hurricane Isabel about 400 miles north of Puerto Rico on September 14, 2003, at 14:45 UTC. At the time, Isabel was packing maximum sustained winds of 155 miles per hour, making it a rare and powerful Category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane scale.

Good quality, good encyclopedic value, etc.

  Well, almost quoting Jjron, most hurricane/TC pictures are pretty good, like this one, but usually the hurricane/tropical cyclone that is the subject needs to be particularly unique for it to pass. I honestly don't think it's that special.
