Wikipedia:Peer review/Muhammad I of Granada/archive1

I've listed this article for peer review because I want to bring the article to FA status. It just passed GA, and I'll be grateful for any general feedback on the article, as well as your assessment about this article's chance of passing FAC.

I would put the map nearer the start of the article, possibly immediately under the lead. And make it larger. I kept referring to an atlas to see where places were, then cursed when I discovered the map at the bottom.

I think that you could do with a paragraph or two in a Background section explaining the overall Iberian political situation. As it is you are assuming a reasonable familiarity with this area of history by the reader.

Good idea, give me some time. The sources definitely talk about the background, but maybe it's a bit tricky to pick which part is appropriate for a concise background in this article. HaEr48 (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gog the Mild: I added some background for the political situation of the Iberian peninsula, please take a look. HaEr48 (talk) 08:27, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@HaEr48: Nice work. IMO it makes the whole article read more smoothly. I like the map - good idea. I have made several changes, as usual revert anything you don't like. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:14, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
PS. Given that "Background" only has one sub-section I would either delete "Iberian political situation", or use it to replace "Background". Gog the Mild (talk) 12:30, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have done a little copy editing. I will do some more tomorrow.

Thank you so much, appreciated! HaEr48 (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Resolve the p./pp. issue in cite 49.

Done (I think). HaEr48 (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Give an ISBN for Vidal Castro. Check the ISBN for Watt; they didn't exist in 1965.

Vidal Castro is an article in a journal, so it doesn't have an ISBN. I updated Watt's reference to the 2007 version which does have ISBN.HaEr48 (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Insert alt text for all images. Gog the Mild (talk) 22:43, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, @Gog the Mild:, for the feedback! HaEr48 (talk) 05:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copy edit. Cough! *Red face* What I had actually done was partially copy edit Muhammad II of Granada. I have now copy edited the whole of Muhammad I. Please check carefully. Obviously, revert anything you don't like.
Watt & Cachia. The bibliography references the 2007 edition, the cites the 1965. Gog the Mild (talk) 19:02, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. HaEr48 (talk) 13:31, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gog the Mild: What do you think of this article's chances of passing FA now? Do you have more feedback towards that direction? HaEr48 (talk) 13:31, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@HaEr48: I am far from an expert on FAs. So far as I can see it is ready. For what it is worth, if it were me I would put it in for a MilHist ACR first. Gog the Mild (talk) 14:05, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if Milhist is a good scope for this, given that the article is not too heavy on the military side, but also on the diplomacy and medieval history side. I'll probably give it one more thorough look and then nominate for FA. HaEr48 (talk) 06:44, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Closing the peer review now since I'm going ahead with FAC. @Gog the Mild: Thanks a lot for your feedback! HaEr48 (talk) 06:47, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
