I've listed this article for peer review because…I'm planning to nom it for FA, and it seems on the fast track there. I'd like more review of it before the acid test, though.

Comments from Tim riley – As promised/threatened, a few observations from someone who knows nothing about coinage:

• General
  • "Native American"/"Indian": I think it would be helpful at some point (but where?) to have a parenthetical explanation that the latter is now called the former. It is still not common currency everywhere outside the U.S. And ought Native American and Indian to be blue-linked at first mention?
  • Possessives: you vary between Saint-Gaudens' and Saint-Gaudens's. I know which I prefer but I'll zip my English lip and leave it to you to standardise on one or the other.
  • Bas-relief or bas relief, passim?
• Inception
  • "for which he paid by check" – not sure what this information adds (am I missing a subtle irony?)

You mean because he died soon afterwards? Kinda like the joke about the mourners who stood by a graveside having been told it was traditional to put things of value in. The first to threw in a hundred dollar bill each. The third grabbed the two hundred dollar bills, threw in a check for $300. Seriously, it is simply to show that the Mint did not send him coins for free, he had to pay for them. (Given how nutso the Mint could get about that with officials and artists, I'm actually a bit surprised he didn't have to pay in advance).--Wehwalt (talk) 14:52, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

• Design
  • NIKΗ EIPHNH – worth mentioning that this isn't a barcode but Ancient Greek? (You have this in the later caption but not in the main text.)
  • "standing eagle standing" – too many standings? (In my day a college widow stood for something; in fact she stood for plenty)

• Release and production
  • On my wide-ish screen laptop, there is an inch of white space before the text of this section begins. I think if you put the bas relief pic immediately under the unused model pic in the section above it would iron out this difficulty.

The image used to be there, but was moved after GAN due to the reverse complaint. I tried to reduce the whitespace, perhaps that will do.--Wehwalt (talk) 14:58, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

• References
  • "Recollections of a Newspaperman. San Francisco, Califoria" – I was about to silently correct "Califoria" but then wondered if it need be there at all, there being no other famous San Francisci.
• Bibliography
  • ISBNs – internal dashes or not? I think you should be consistent.

These are my modest gleanings. As a complete ignoramus on numismatics I will say that I found the article not only clear but also readable to an extent that surprised me.
