Basshunter discography edit

Future FL candidate. I know tables are different than most of the featured discographies but I also seen some exceptions (better look). Eurohunter (talk) 14:22, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from SNUGGUMS edit

  • "Internet albums" are no different from studio albums (aside from how widely they're distributed); being only released online doesn't mean it should be discounted.
    • @SNUGGUMS: It's problematic because they are officially called or classified as "Internet albums" even The Bassmachine was released on CD in very limited copies (it's de facto studio album). It's hard to decide for me. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Being "Officially" called/classified is evidently wrong. The choice is simple: count them as studio albums. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:12, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • I just wanted to integrate them but I noticed there is "Internet" parameter for "Internet albums" in the Infobox artist discography. Eurohunter (talk) 21:11, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
          • We can safely disregard that parameter entirely. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 00:11, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
            • @SNUGGUMS:   Done but why is there this parameter? Eurohunter (talk) 19:34, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
              • It probably was created when someone erroneously thought they were a separate entity from other albums. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 22:23, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Being "Self-released" also doesn't make something any less of a single.
    • It's similar case. "Boten Anna" is the debut single and how it's described. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • Another erroneous description. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:12, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • I will integrate them. Can I add note that single was self-released? Eurohunter (talk) 19:01, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
          • It would be better if you didn't because such detail isn't really relevant here. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 20:36, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't use somebody's label for sales claims; they're known to often inflate their artists' figures for promotional purposes.
    • Do you mean overall sales data from the lead? I wanted to summary sales number and I marked that it's label data. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • I do, and even with such attribution, it's best to cite a source not closely affiliated with article subject. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 18:12, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
        • @SNUGGUMS: There is no other source for 6 milions copies sold. Should I remove it then? There is video on YouTube which contains sales data from 2010 (3.7 millions) but it was published by another label. There maybe some articles about it but as you see 2010 sales data is very outdated. Eurohunter (talk) 16:57, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
          • If nothing else gives 6 million, then remove it entirely. Even an outdated article from an independent source is more trustworthy than any label inflation. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 20:38, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
            • @SNUGGUMS: It will take some time to find but when I will find it maybe atleast I will add these 6 millions in note "according to..."? Eurohunter (talk) 20:42, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
              • That would be fine as long as it's not from his label or anything closely affiliated with him. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:45, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • You contradict yourself by writing The Bassmachine is "Basshunter's first album" and then saying LOL is his "debut studio album".
    • As from first point. The Bassmachine is the debut album overall and in Internet albums category. LOL <(^^,)> is described as the debut studio album. Hard to decide again. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stylizations are inappropriate here, so use LOL instead of LOL <(^^,)>.
  • Bass Generation is his fifth album, not third, and Calling Time is his sixth instead of fourth.
    • Depends how we counting it. If we will clarify The Basmachine and The Old Shit it wil be fixed automatically. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Studio albums" has 12 chart listings. WP:DISCOGSTYLE recommends a maximum of 10, so I'd remove the US component charts because it's best to go with nations' main charts.
  • If he doesn't sing at all under the "credits" listing, then it shouldn't be here in the first place as writing/producing alone aren't enough to warrant inclusion on discography pages.
    • It was one of my doubts. Removed from discography. Kept in his list of songs.   Done Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not sure the "Remixes" section is appropriate. I've never seen such a thing used for these pages.
    • I seen this section in some DJ's discographies but it was always very poorly done. I had no better idea what to do with it. I think it would be more justified for discography if "Dancing Lasha Tumbai (Basshunter Remix)" would be a separate release with remix but in this case it's just included in "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" single. Eurohunter (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully my comments help. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 00:16, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • @SNUGGUMS: Should I include streaming in the albums formats? Eurohunter (talk) 22:15, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • That sort of detail is best saved for those (at least upon first release) are exclusive to any specific streaming services. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 22:23, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SNUGGUMS: Do you know if songs not included on any album should be listed in "Other appearances" secton or should be left in List of songs recorded by Basshunter? Eurohunter (talk) 16:41, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • If released as singles or promo singles, then include on this page. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 17:53, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • It was just song from compilation of various artists. Removed.   Done Eurohunter (talk) 20:10, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SNUGGUMS: After almost two months of no activity I decided to close request and start FL nomination. Eurohunter (talk) 21:27, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@SNUGGUMS: Thanks. FL nomination started. I added Basshunter videography to be peer reviewed. Would you be interested in and list of songs in the future? Eurohunter (talk) 21:43, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what to say about that. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 22:42, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@SNUGGUMS: I mean if you would like to check more Basshunter articles. Eurohunter (talk) 10:27, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I knew that, and I'm going to decline now after further thought. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 10:45, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
