The following discussion is preserved as an archive of a unsuccessful Online Ambassador application.

There seems to be a clear consensus among the people who replied. Please don't let this set you back. Keep on editing and you will easily get through this process. In the meantime you may want to check out the Wiki Guides who work with welcoming new users. --Guerillero | My Talk 04:25, 26 March 2011 (UTC) (non-admin closure)[reply]

  1. Why do you want to be a Wikipedia Ambassador?
I want to help Wikipedia and its sister projects in their projects. I want that people can easily edit Wikipedia and this will result in more unbiased content.
  2. In three sentences or less, summarize your involvement with Wikimedia projects.
I often edit contents which are biased. I also update contents on both Wikipedia and sister projects like Commons.
  3. Please indicate a few articles to which you have made significant content contributions. (e.g. DYK, GA, FA, major revisions/expansions/copyedits).
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigg_Toss , http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Euthanasia_and_the_Legality.png
  4. How have you been involved with welcoming and helping new users on Wikipedia?
I have been encouraging my friend to join Wikipedia and had helped them with editing basics.
  5. What do you see as the most important ways we could welcome newcomers or help new users become active contributors?
We can introduce a scoring system like Yahoo! Answers to encourage people to be a active contributor.
  6. Have you had major conflicts with other editors? Blocks or bans? Involvement in arbitration? Feel free to offer context, if necessary.
No, Wikipedia has been always a pleasant place to be in.
  7. How often do you edit Wikipedia and check in on ongoing discussions? Will you be available regularly for at least two hours per week, in your role as a mentor?
Absolutely, I spend a lot time on Wikipedia and always edit pages hen needed.
  8. What else should we know about you that is relevant to being a Wikipedia Ambassador?
Well I am a student and I can Wikify articles.

  • I have to say I oppose. You have under 100 edits over less then a full month on the english wikipedia. Perhaps you could re-apply next term after you have done some more article work. (As a friendly note those two top icons that you have on your profile say that you have extra user rights that you do not have. Having those up could lead you into some problems) Please don't be discouraged, we are looking for people who have been here a while and know the ropes already. --Guerillero | My Talk 00:28, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
