- Why do you want to be a Wikipedia Ambassador?
- I currently a Student Develoment Volunteer at my College and I've had a lot of experience speaking with both teachers/lecturers and students about Wikipedia. In doing so I showed them how articles are kept accurate by many editors, even though anyone can edit. This lead to one teacher changing thier stance on students citing wikipedia articles on projects.
- In three sentences or less, summarize your involvement with Wikimedia projects.
- I have limited my involvement mainly to areas in which I feel qualified to make a useful contribution. Such as military and goverment articles.
- Please indicate a few articles to which you have made significant content contributions. (e.g. DYK, GA, FA, major revisions/expansions/copyedits).
- Valencia College, John Greenslade, Ronald Rodgers, Dana A. Simmons granted these could use more but I only add info when I get ahold of hit and verify it.
- How have you been involved with welcoming and helping new users on Wikipedia?
- Yes I try to welcome every new editor when ever I come across them, Since thats what someone did for me when I was new here. I believe I can help new users, since as a Volunteer with my colleges student development dept. I'm always interacting with thestudent body.
- What do you see as the most important ways we could welcome newcomers or help new users become active contributors?
- Many new contributors are intimidated by Wiki markup code. A lot of people know what they want to say, but don't know how to get it in a Wiki format.
- Have you had major conflicts with other editors? Blocks or bans? Involvement in arbitration? Feel free to offer context, if necessary.
- As far as I can remember I don't recall ever having a major conflict.There have been times when I have disagreed with other editors
- How often do you edit Wikipedia and check in on ongoing discussions? Will you be available regularly for at least two hours per week, in your role as a mentor?
- I usally check in with my Wikipedia watch list every day. A few of the articles I am interested in are prone to vandalis. I do not think it would be a problem to devote at least four hours per week.
- How would you make sure your students were not violating copyright laws?
- I take Wikipedia seriously first I'd make sure they were educated on plagiarism, and how it could affect them for their lifetime also I'd make sure that they understood that copying too closely can also be copyright infringement. I'd also make sure they understood WP:COPYVIO Lastly I'd monitor them closly for awhile.
- If one of your students had an issue with copyright violation how would you resolve it?
- I'd try to see if it was first by comparing it to the WP:COPYVIO standards. then i'd try to help them find another way to edit or solution if you will. If I couldn't handle it I'd ask other Ambassadors for help.
- In your _own_ words describe what copyright violation is.
- Copyright infringement in my opinion is when someone can't, won't, or is just not interested in doing their own work so they make the mistake of taking credit for someone else's hard work, whether they know it or not.
- What else should we know about you that is relevant to being a Wikipedia Ambassador?
- If I don't know the answer to something I'll tell you I don't know then I'll find the answer.

- Endorse while I'd like to see a bit more experience with mainspace and article work, TD's real life experience working with in the academic environment is valuable to the OA program. The Interior (Talk) 22:03, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
