  1. Why do you want to be a Wikipedia Ambassador?
I enjoy helping new users, and I feel that being an Ambassador would be a great way to ensure that new users are encouraged to come to the project and are not driven away by the cabal within the first few days.
  2. In three sentences or less, summarize your involvement with Wikimedia projects.
Member of WP:MIL, past co-ordinator of WP:Abuse response, work with WP:AFC and WP:ACC. Also starting to work with WP:CCI and WP:GOCE.
  3. Please indicate a few articles to which you have made significant content contributions. (e.g. DYK, GA, FA, major revisions/expansions/copyedits).
I'm more of a wiki-gnome. I have a few ITN's that can be found on my page and I have done a few GA reviews. I've recently started doing some grammar fixes for milhist, and have worked with GOCE in the past.
  4. How have you been involved with welcoming and helping new users on Wikipedia?
I am active on en-help on IRC.
  5. What do you see as the most important ways we could welcome newcomers or help new users become active contributors?
Just ensuring that they have the chance to learn the rules, possibly through mistakes, before getting scared off by bitey editors.
  6. Have you had major conflicts with other editors? Blocks or bans? Involvement in arbitration? Feel free to offer context, if necessary.
No, I have not been in any major conflicts.
  7. How often do you edit Wikipedia and check in on ongoing discussions? Will you be available regularly for at least two hours per week, in your role as a mentor?
I edit Wikipedia essentially every day, and I will easily be available at least 2 hours per week.
